To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, HUGH H. BYRNE, a citizen of the United States, residin at La Crosse, in the county of La Crosse and tate of Wisconsin, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Toilet-Cases, of which the following is a specification.

For a full description of the invention and the merits thereof and also to acquire a knowledge of the details of construction of the means for effecting the result reference is to be had to the following description and accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a top plan view of a toilet case or box embodying the invention, the same being open. Fig. 2 is alongitudinal sectional View. Fig. 3 isa transverse sectional view, the case closed.

Corresponding and like parts are referred to in the followin description and indicated g the drawings by the same This invention embodies a novel form of toilet case or box for travelers, the same being particularly designed to afford a convenient arrangement of compartments adapted to receive toilet articles or the like, the case being adapted to be readily placed in a satchel, trunk, or suit-case, as found desirable by the user.

In the drawings the numeral 1 designates the body or case proper, the same having a hinged or similarly-connected cover 2. The cover 2 is provided with a flap 3 to overlap a side of the case, and this flap has two or more tabs 4 with fasteners attached to engage suitable means on a side of the box to hold the cover closed. The box is interiorly divided into a number of compartments, a main com partment 5, two transverse smaller compartments 6, and a single transverse compartment 7, having the capacity, preferably, of the two small compartments 6. Transverse partitions 8 and 9 form the transverse compartments 6 and 7, a longitudinal partition 10 separating the compartments 6 and connecting the partitions 8 and 9 at a point between the ends thereof. The main compartment 5 is provided with an annular partition 11, forming an inner auxiliary compartment 12, which is adapted to receive a razor, strop, shaving-stick, nail-file, comb, brush, or the like. The compartment 5 comprises the space between the partition 11. and the sides of the box, and this compartment is adapted to receive collars or similar articles. The

smaller transverse compartments 6 may be utilized to receive a soap-box, tooth-powder,

or toilet accessories of a similar nature. The larger transverse compartment 7 is suitable for holding ties, &c. All of the partitions 8 and 11 terminate at the upper edges some distance below the upper edges of the sides of the case, and this admits of the use of the. I flaps 13 on the under sides of the cover 2,said flaps being adapted to overlap and hold cuffs, ties, stationery, or the like upon the under side of said cover. The longitudinal partition 10 terminates at its upper edge flush with the 9 lower edge of the cut-away portion 15, so that said partition 10 will not interfere with the disposition of the brush in a manner before described.

It will of course be understood that a toiletcase constructed as hereinbefore set forth may be suitably finished according to the whim of the manufacturer and the price for which the article may be sold and may be used. on the bureau or in any similar way.
