ARNT A. SOLBERG, OF CDON VALLEY, WISCO'NSIN.
CIGARETTE HOLDER.
Application filed February 21, 1924.
Toy all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ARNT A. SoLennG, a citizen of the United States of America, and resident of Coon Valley, in the county of Vernon and State of Wisconsin, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Cigarette Holders, of which the following is a specification.
This inventon relates to holdere for cigarettes and cigars, and has for an object the provision of novel means for dislodging the stump of a cigarette or cigar from the holder. iVhile the drawing illustr'ates the invention as associated with a Cigarette, it will be apparent that the device will be of utility in connection with holders for cigars. and the inventor does not wish to be limited with respect to these features. However, in the further description of the invention, the devicc will be referred to as a cigarette holder and it will be understood that in this special reference the inventor contemplates its employment in a larger sense, to which reference has been made.
It is a further object of this invention to produce a sectional cigarette holder, one section of which is intended to have the socket for the reception of the Cigarette to be smoked, whereas the other section constitutes the bit or mouth-piece, which latter carries the Cigarette dislodging device, as will presently appear.
It is a further object of this invention to produce a holder of the character indicated in Which a Cigarette piercing element is carried by the bit and is stored in a recess or aperture formed in the contiguous section.
With the foregoing and other objects in view, the invention consists in the details of construction, and in the arrangement and combination of parts to be hereinafter more fully set forth and claimed.
In describing the invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying draw- `lodged from the holder.
Seria'l No. 694,353.
ings forming part of this application wherein like characters denote corresponding parts in the several views, and in which- Figure 1 illustrates a side elevation of a Cigarette holder embodying the invention;
Figure 2 illustrates a sectional view thereof; and
Figure 3 illustrates a perspective view of the sections detached showing the utility of the device when the Cigarette is to be disin these drawings, 5 denotes the outer or Socket member of the holder adapted to re- -ceive the cigarette 6, and 7 denotes the bit or mouth-piece section of the said holder. The sections 5 and 7 may be secured together by any suitable joint such as 8 and the sections may be frictionally retained in place. The bit 7 has the shank of a spur or pin 9 anchored in its inner end and the said spur projects from the said end and it is intended when detached from the section 5, to act as a Cigarette remover, in that the spur may be partially imbedded in the cigarette and force exerted to displace the Cigarette from the holder.
As shown in Fig. 2, the section 5 of the holder has a recess or Socket 10 in its end next to the bit, for the reception of the spurso that when the parts are assembled, they will apnear as illustrated in Fig. 2 and the spur will aid in retaining the sections assembled', although bv pull axially, the sections ma j be detached from each other.
li claim:
In a Cigarette holder; a Socketsection for the reception of the Cigarette, a bit section detachably secured thereto, the bit section having a Spur anchored in its inner end and projecting therefrom and the said first mentioned section rhaving a soclret in its end contiguous to the bit in which the spur may be seated, substantially as described.
