T 0 all whom it may concern Be it known that I, \VILLIAM HAHN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Toledo, in the county of Lucas and State of Ohio, haveinvented certain new and useful Improvements in Cigarette -Holders, of which the following is a specification.

This invention has relation to cigarette holders, and has for an object to provide a device of this kind designed to contain a cigarette and shaped and decorated exteriorly to represent a cigar.

Another object of the invention is to provide a cigarette holder having the characteristics above set forth and embodying a mouth piece and removable cap, the latter designed to contain the cigarette therewithin to permit the latter to be smoked, and a novel cigarette ejecting means operable when the cap is removed to automatically eject the ci arette from the mouth piece.

.n addition to the foregoing, this invention comprehends improvements in the details of construction and arrangement of parts, to be hereinafter described and particularly set forth in the appended claims.

In the accompanying drawings in which similar and corresponding parts are designated by the same characters of reference throughout the several views in which they appear.

Figure 1 is a view in side elevation of a cigarette holder constructed in accordance with my invention.

With reference to the drawings, 10 indicates a mouth piece of my improved cigarette holder and 11 the cap therefor, sa1d cap having a shoulder 12 formed upon its inner end and designed to receive the conical .reduced portion 13 of the mouth piece. The

cap and mouth piece are so shaped as to resemble a cigar in configuration when the parts are assembled. The outer end of the cap 11 is perforated as at 14 and is covered by means of asbestos wool or the like 15 secured thereto by any suitable adhesive so as to resemble-cigar ashes. A cigar band 16 is applied to the device at the jointbetween the cap and mouth piece. The inner end of the mouth piece 10 is formedwith a cavity 17 in which to receive the end of the cigarette and a channel 18 extends from said cavity at opposite ends of the mouth piece in the usual manner. A recess 19 communicates with the cavity 17 and extends parallel thereto for a distance entering into a longitudinal groove 20. An ejecting devlce provided in the form of arod 21 having one end extended in the groove 20 and its opposlte end extending through the recess 1t) and beyond the inner end of the mouth piece and provided with a hook terminal 22. The rod 21 is of resilient material and 1s provided at a point intermediate its end w1th a right angularly extended portion 23 forming an ejectin disk 24 which operates within the cavity 1%.

In operation,'the cap and mouth piece are disassembled and a cigarette is inserted into the cavity 17 as far as it will go carrying the ejecting device rearward. The cap is .then applied and it will be noted that the head 22 of the ejecting device will be engaged and move laterally by contact with the end of the cap and as soon as the cap is forced upon the reduced portion 13 as far as it will go the head 22 will spring outward and engage against the shoulder 12. The

cigarette may be lighted prior to the ins'ei' by the shoulder 12 and the ejecting devicecarried outward thus ejecting the cigarette into the cap 11. Then the cap is moved sidewise so as to completely. disengage the shoulder formed head 22 whereupon the cap may be entirely removed from the mouth piece.

Thus, it will be seen that I have provided a novel form of cigarette holder which-is dei signed to entirely contain the cigarette Within an inclosed space, thereby preventing ashes from flying about. ,It will also be apparent that by means of the ejecting device the cigarette or a remaining portion thereof will be dislodged into the cap and may be entered therefrom together with the accumulated ashes. This device is of particular value to smokers who desire to use cigarettes but object to the appearance. Other uses and advantages will readily occur to those skilled in the art to which this invention appertains.

While I have illustrated and described my invention with some degree of particularity, i realize that in practice various alterations therein may be made. Iv therefore reserve the right and privilege of changing the form of the details of construction or 7 otherwise altering the arrangement of the correlated parts without departing fromthe spirit of the invention or the scope of the apIpIended claims.

1. A cigarette holder comprising a mouth piece to support a cigarette, a movableeject mg device, and a cap to be applied to the mouth piece and adapted to operate the ejecting device When-the cap is subsequently removed to eject the cigarette into the cap.

and a cap for application to the mouth piece 20 and having a shoulder to engage the head whereby the ejecting device may be operated When the cap is removed to eject the cigarette into the cap.
