REVERSIBLE GABTMENT.
Application filed September 19, 1918. Serial Ito. 25%,726. Renewed October 10, 1921.
To all 70/ 10772, it may concern.
Be it known that I, CHARLES F. ZITTING, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Idaho Falls, in the county of Bonneville and State of Idaho, have invented certain new and useful improvements in Reversible Garments, of which the following is a specification.
My invention is an improvement in reversible garments, and has for its object to provide a garment which may be worn with either side outward, wherein the garment has a collar and culi's of two thicknesses of material of contrasting colors, the corre sponding colors being on the $211116 side of the garnient. and wherein the garment is provided with closing flaps, one flap having huttonlioles and the other buttons secured to a flexible cord arranged within the edge of the first named flap and swingable in either direction to be engaged within the said buttonholes from either side of the garment.
in the drawings:
Figure l is a front view of a pair of rompers constructed in accordance with the im provement Figure 2 is a section through the closing flaps ot the rompers, showing the method of arranging the buttons, and Figure 8 is a side view showing side flaps.
In the drawings is shown a construction of rompers consisting of a waist 24 and trousers 25. The cults 26, the collar 27 and the waist band are of two thicknesses of material, connected to the body of the garment in any desired manner.
Serial No. 506,836.
The closing flaps for the trousers have buttonholes 27 shown more particularly in Figure 2, and a series of buttons 28 is secared to the lower edge of the waist body and to the other closing flap, for engagement by the buttonholes.
A cord, indicated at 29, is secured within the edge of the material, and the buttons 28 are sewed to this cord, so that they may swing in either direction. Thus the garment may be reversed, and whichever side is out the buttons will be outward and will properly engage the buttonholes.
I claim:
1. A reversible garment of two thicknesses of material, said garment being provided with closing flaps, one flap being provided with buttonholes, a flexible cord secured within the edge of the other flap, and buttons secured upon said cord and swingable in either direction to be engaged within said buttonholes from either side of the garment.
2. A reversible garment comprising closing flaps, one of said flaps provided with button-holes, a flexible cord secured at the extreme edge of the other flap, and buttons secured upon said cord and swingable in either direction to be disposed within said button-holes from either side of said first named flap.
