STOCKING SUPPORTER.

HATTIE KEYS, 0F ELLENSBURG, WASHINGTON.
STOCKING-SUPPORTER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Oct. '7, 1919.
Application filed January 21, 1918. Serial No. 212,998.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HATTIE KEYs, a citizen of the United States, residing at Ellensburg, in the county of Kittitas and State of Washington, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Stocking-Supporters, of which the following isa specification.
This invention relates to improvements in stocking supporters and has for its principal object to provide an improved and novel type of stocking supporter in which all buttons and other fastening means for holding the supporter about the body are eliminated. A further object of my device is to provide a supporter which embodies elastic means for preventing it from slipping from the shoulder without binding the body. son a further object of my device is to provide a one piece supporting member which encircles the body.
Other objects will appear as my invention is more fully explained in the following specification, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and pointed out in the appended claim.
In the drawings Figure 1 is a back elevation of my device with parts broken away.
Fig. 2 is a side elevation of same.
Referring more particularly to the drawings numeral 1 indicates a body member which is formed continuously across the front as at 2 and which is also continuous over the shoulders in the form of shoulder straps 3. A waist band 4 is also continuous with the members 1, 2 and 3 thus forming a one piece acket which is closed at the back by means of elastic straps 5 which are sewed solid into the members 1. Supporting straps 6 extend from either side of the belt members 4 and terminate in an elastic strap 7 at the lower end of which the usual buckle 8 and stocking snap 9 are suspended. It will be understood that the device is put on the wearer by slipping over the head and shoulders until theshoulder straps 3 encopies or this patent may be obtained for five cents each, by addressing the one piece construction of buttons, hooks or other fastenings as is usual in devices of this character. The
front member 2 does not have any elastic in it as it is only necessary that the device be yieldingacross the back. It will be noted that the straps 6 fasten on to the belt member 4 on the sides-thereof thus bringing the strain directly upon the shoulders and avoigling any tightening pull upon the belt itse While I have shown a particular form of embodiment of my invention, I am aware that many minor changes therein will readily suggest themselves to others skilled in the art without departing from the spirit and-scope of the invention, and I therefore desire to avoid being limited to the exact form shown and described. Having described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to protect by Letters Patent, is
A supporter comprising two sleeve sections and a chest section formed'in one iece, an elastic back section connecting the inner edges of. the two sleeve sections whereby the upper portions of the sleeve sections form shoulder straps and the lower portions with the chest section and the elastic back section form a belt, and straps depending from the two sleeve sections for supporting garters.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
Mas. HATTIE KEYS.
