This invention relates to combined corset and hose supporters, the primary object of the invention being to provide a supporter which will prevent the corset from riding up, and at the same time provide a hose supporter which will securely hold the hose against wrinkling.

Another object of the invention is to provide a supporter which will relieve the stockings of undue strain usually directed thereto when the corset which carries the usual supporters, rides up, thereby eliminating stocking runs usually resulting from excessive strain directed to the stockings.

With the foregoing and other objects in view, which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein described, may be made within the scope of what is claimed, without departing from the spirit of the invention.

Referring to the drawings:

Figure 1 is a view illustrating the application of the supporter, constructed in accordance with the invention.

Figure 2 is a perspective view of the supporter.

Figure 3 is a sectional view taken on line 3-3 of Figure 2.

Figure 4 is an elevational view illustrating the clasp employed in securing the supporter to the stocking.

Figure 5 is a sectional View taken on line 5 5 of Figure 4.

Referring to the drawings in detail, the reference character 5 designates the usual corset, to which the supporter forming the subject matter of the present invention is connected.

The supporter includes an upper band 6 constructed of elastic material, the band being in the form of a strap, the ends thereof being connected by means of the clasp 1, whereby the band may be readily and easily positioned around the leg of the user, at a point above the knee. Exe tending upwardly from the band 6 are straps 8 which are constructed of elastic material and formed with tabs 9 which have openings for the reception of the headed fastenings I0 which are shown as supported at the lower ends of the straps Il, that in turn are secured along the lower edge of the corset 5, as clearly shown by Figure 1 of the drawings.

Removably connected with the band t, is a lower leg encircling band I2, constructed of elastic material, the band being also in the form of a strap, the ends thereof being connected by means of the hook and eye fastener i3. 5

Straps indicated by the reference character I4 are constructed of elastic material and have their lower ends secured to the band l2, the upper ends of the straps M being provided with hooks i5 adapted to hook into the loop members I6 carried l0 by the band 6 whereby the band l2 is removably secured to the band S. rIhese straps are of an adjustable character, so that the distance between the bands 6 and I2, may be regulated to suit the requirements of the user. It will of course be l5 understood that in the use of the supporter, the band l 2 encircles the leg of the user at a point below the knee.

Clasps Il are secured to the band 6, and are so positioned that they will grip the upper edge of 20 the stocking or hose worn by the person using the supporter.

From the foregoing it will be seen that due to the construction shown and described, the strap l2, being positioned below the knee of the user, 25 will not creep upwardly, and will hold the band E and corset connected therewith, downwardly against the corset riding up, while the person using the supporter is walking.

Because the strap l2 and band 6 are held 30 against upward movement, it will be obvious that the hose or stocking connected with the band 6, through the clamps H, will not be subjected to excessive strain, as would be the case if the band 6 or supporters which usually connect with the 35 hose and are carried by the corset, should move upwardly, due to the riding up of the corset.

I claim:

A supporter of the class described comprising a wide upper band adapted to encircle the leg 40 above the knee, and a substantially narrow band adapted to encircle the leg below the knee, adjustable straps connecting the bands, straps extending upwardly from the upper band and adapted to connect with the corset worn by the 45 person using the supporter, and clasps secured to the upper band at points adjacent to the lower ends of the straps extending upwardly from the upper band, and said clasps extendingdownward- 1y to connect with the stockings of the wearer.
