To allwhom it may concern; 7 Be it known that I, Nnr'rin M. 'Humx-a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and 'State' of Illinois, have invented new andjuseful; Im provements in HoseSupporters, of which the following isvafull, clear, and exact descri tion. q I i I yinvention relates to hose supporters, and particularly to; the kind employing straps secured .at their upper; ends to the waist-band -of the trousers of the wearer or to his belt, and provided at their lower ends with suitable clasps to which the socks are attached. Hose supporters of this kind have been made with transverse bands that surrounded the leg both below and above the knee, but these weremade wholly or partly of elastic and would bind and pinch the flesh, and would not automatically conform tothe play of the muscles either whenithe'fl wearer was sitting down or standing up, and had a tendency to'roll at the edges andcorrugate' and dent the flesh.

The objectsofmy invention are to enable these transverse bands. to' conform to the shape of the legs both above and below the knee without binding the muscles or pinching into the flesh or preventing thefree movement of .the'knee whether the. legis straight or bent and to retain the support ing straps in-their relative positions both inside and outside ofthe leg without causing discomfort. This I accomplish by the means hereinafter fully, described, and as, particularly pointed out'in the claims.
