his invention relates to undergarments and is particularly directed to an improved womans combination foundation garment or corselet, havinga brassiere portion, a girdle portion and a hose support.

An object of this invention is to provide an undergarment of the character described, of improved construction, which shall aid in maintaining the wearers body posture erect and which shall yet comfortably t the wearer and be easy to put on or remove from the body and permit unrestricted body movements.

Another object of this invention is to provide an improved combination undergarment of the character described which may easily and quickly be adjusted to fit various body shapes and to vary the tension applied to the A still further object ofthis invention is to provide a garment of the character described which shall have means for improving the shape of the wearer, to produce an attractive foundation for the outer garments,

without causing discomfiture.

A still further object of this invention is to provide an improved combination undergarment of the character described comprising few and simple parts, comparatively inexpensive to manufacture, durable in construction, comfortable to wear, easily put on and taken off and which may yet be inconspicuously worn and practical and eflicient to a high degree in use. a

The invention accordingly consists in the features of construction, combinations of elements, and arrangement of parts which will be exemplified in the construction hereinafter described, and of which the scope of application will be indicamd in the following claims.

Referring now in detail to the drawings, 10 designates an undergarment embodying the invention here shownin the form of a womans foundation combination garment or corselet. The garment is preferably made 7 in one-piece of any suitable flexible cloth or fabric, no bones or steels or similar stiflening members being employed in the construction thereof. The garment comprises a front section 11 adapted to cover substantially the front of the body from just beneath the bust to the thighs,'a small elastic triangular gusset 12 being incorporated into the central bottom edge portion of said section to permit movement of the body. The upper por-' tion of said section 11 preferably terminates in a pointed portion 14 to each side of which 7 there is seamedas by stitches 11a, a suitably fashioned, curved breast confining section 15. Sewed to the opposite side edges 13 ofsaid front section 11, are elongated sections 16 seamed to said sections 15 and extending to the lower edge of the garment. Seamed to the side edges 16a of each of said sections 16 are sections 17 likewise sewed to the underedges of said bust confining portions 15 ment. As shown in the; drawings, when the garmentis worn, said sections 17 are disposed at the sides of the wearers body, from substantially beneath the arms to below the hips. Adjacent said sections 17 and seamed to the outer edges 17a thereof, the garment is provided with sections 18 extending tothe top edge of the garment and adapted to be disposed below the arm pits of the wearer andaround the rear of the body. Extending from and seamed to each of said sections 18, as at 1801., is a portion or section 19, adapted to be wrapped around the rear of the wearers body, the upper edge of said sections being diverged downwardly. The lower portion of each of said sections. 19 is adapted to cover the buttocks, and the lower edge 21 thereof curves upwardly, said sections 19 terminating in vertical outer edge portions 23 adapted to be disposed just above the hips of the wearer.

It will be. noted that no bones, steels, or the like: tensioning' members are employed, the garment hence being highly practical and efficient in use without causing discomfiture or interfering materially with the movements of the body.

It will also be seenthat the garment may be spread flat and easily put on and taken off. F or putting on the garment the arms are first inserted thru the loops formed by the shoulder straps, and the outer end portion of the garment opposite to the side in which the slit is located, is then wrapped rearwardly about the back, and passed thru the slit and attached to the eye fasteners adjacent to said slit. The other end portion is then wrapped around the back in overlapping relation to the already wrapped portion of the garment, and attached to the other set of eye fasteners. To remove the garment the above steps are merely reversed.

It will thus be seen that there is provided a device in which the several objects of this invention are achieved, and which is well adapted to meet the conditions of practical use.

As various possible embodiments might be made of the above invention, and as various changes might be made in the embodiment above set forth, it is to be understood that all matter herein set forth or shown in the accompanying drawings is to be interpreted as illustrative and not in a limiting sense.

Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent:

1. A garment of the character described comprising a member having a central portion adapted to cover a portion of the wearefis body, and portions extending outwardly from said first portion adapted to be wrappeo about the body in overlapping relation, said garment having a slit therein for receiving the end of one of said outwardly extending portions therethru, and means for attaching said end to said garment, said means comprising a row of fastening members attached to the outer surface of said garment, and a row of complementary fastening members attached to said end adapted to cooperate with said first row of fastening members, the fastening members in one row being unequal in number to that of the fastening members on said other row.

2. A garment of the character described comprising a member made of flexible mate rial having a portion adapted to cover the front of the body, outwardly extending portions adapted to be wrapped about the body in overlapping relation to each other, and portions extending downwardly from said outwardly extending portions, for covering the rear of the body and the buttocks.

3. A garment of the character described comprising a member made of flexible material havin a portion, adapted to cover the front of the body and confine the bust, outto be spread flat having wardly extending portions adapted to be Wrapped about the body in overlapping relation to each other, and portions extending downwardl from said outwardl extendin v 1 portions, adapted to cover the rear of the bony and the buttocks, each of said downwardly extending portions. 4-. 5. A womans foundation undergarment comprising a member made of flexible material adapted to be spread fiat and having bust confining portions, a centralabdominal confining portion, portions extending from the sides of said. central portion and portions extending downwardly from said last named portions adapted to cover the buttocks, said garment having an opening on one side of said central portion adapted to receive the portion extending from the opposite side of said central portion.

6. A womans foundation undergarment, comprising, a central portion, portions extending outwardly from the sides of said central portion, a pair of vertical parallel rows of fastening members attached adjacent the end of one of said extending portions, said garment having a slit adapted to receive said end therethru, and a row of complementary fastener members secured adjacent said slit adapted for coaction with one of the other of saidrows of fasteners.

7 A Womans foundation undergarment comprising a central portion, portions extending outwardly from the sides of said central portion, and a pair of parallel rows of fastening members attached adjacent the end of one of said extending portions, said garment being formed with a slit, and a row of complementary fastener members secured to said garment adjacent said slit, the number of fastener members on each of the first two rows being equal to each other, and different from the number of fastener members in the last mentioned row.

8. A womans undergarment comprising a member made of flexible material adapted a central portion adapted to cover the front of the wearers body, portions extending outwardly from said central portion adapted to be wrapped rearwardly about the body in overlapping relation, portions for covering the buttocks, and means for attaching said outwardly ex and a hose strap attached to portions adapted to be tending portions to intermediate portions of said garment for retaining the garment in Wrapped condition about said body. 7 9. A womans undergarment comprising a member made of flexible material adapted to be spread fiat having a central portion adapted to cover the front of the wearers body and portions extending outwardly from said central portion adapted to be wrapped rearwardly about the body in overlappin relation, and means for attaching the end portion of said-outwardly extending portions to intermediate portions of said garment for retaining the garment in Wrapped condition about said body, said means comprising a row of fastener members adjacent each of said end portions and rows of fastening members on said garment adapted to cooperate with said first mentioned rows of fastening 29 members.

10. A Womans undergarment comprising a member made "of flexible material adapted to be spread flat having a central portion adapted to cover the front of the Wearers body and portions extending outwardly from said central portion adapted to be Wrapped rearwardly about the body in overlapping relation, and means for attaching the end portions of said outwardly extending portions to intermediate portions of said garment for retaining the garment in wrapped condition about said body, said means comprising a row of fastener members adjacent each of said end portions and rows of fas ten-i'ng members on said ga 'ment adapted to cooperate with said first mentioned rows of fastening members, the number of fasteni-ng members on each of the rows of said end portions being different from the number of fasteners in each of said other rows.
