CLAUDE FRESE, 0F LOS ANGELES, GALIFORNIA.
FUIVIIGATOR.
iaeaefeo.;
Application filed November 1G, 1914.
To all whom t may concern:
Be it known that l, CLAUDE H. Fnnnsn, a citizen of the United States, residing at Los Angeles, in the county of Los Angeles, State of California', have invented new and useful improvements in Fumigators, of which the following is a specification.
rihis invention relates to a fumigator, and
particularly pertains to a container for dis-U infectants.- l
It is the object of this invention to provide a disinfectant container which is particularly adapted for use in wardrobes, 'trunks and the like, as a protection against inotlisv andlother insects, and which is so constructed that it may be suspended or laid in i any desired location without danger of surrounding .materials beingriiijured by contact with the container and in which the parts of the structure are so formed and arranged as to prevent leakage of the disinfectant material.
Another object is to provide a disinfectant container of annular formation adapted to receive an absorptive material saturated with aY volatileliquid in whichth'e vapors from said liquid are emitted from the inner annular wall of the container and in which the escapey of the vapors from the container' can be inhibited by introducing a closuremember into the central opening of the container.
The invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which; p Y 'Y Figure 1 is a perspective view of the disin-V fectant container. F ig. 2 is a vertical section of same as seen on the line 9,*2 of Fig. l. Y
Y More specifically, 5 indicates the bottom member of the container which consistsvof a sheet metal ring 6 having an upturnedflange.
7 on its outer edge and an upturnedfrtlange 8 on its inner edge; the flange S extending to a height approximately half vthat offthe flange 7. The top portion of the container comprises a ring 9 forniedof sheet metal having a downturned fiange l0 on its outer edge adapted to engage the upturned flange 7. The ring 9 is formed with a downturned flange 1l on its inner edge which terminates Specification or" Letters Patent.
Patented Nov. 3G, i915. serial no. 872,399.
a short distance from the upper edge of the flange 8 to form an', annular slot l2. The space incased by the rings 6 and 9 and the iianges thereon is filled with a suitable absorptive material 13 saturated with any desireddisinfecting or deodorizing solution, the vapors of which are emitted through the annular slot l2.
In the application of the invention, the container thus formed and charged may be placed in any desired location and position;
it being adapted to be suspended from any suitable support engaged by the central opening of the container or it may lie flat or be arrangedin any position wherever it is desired to use same. i
As a means for closing the slot l2 to prevent the escape of the vapors a cork or other suitable stopper 1A is introduced within the space encompassed by the annular flanges 8 and ll as particularly shown in Fig. 2; the stopper or closure 14 effectively sealing the slot l2;
What I claim is:.
l. A disinfectant container, comprising an annular memberhaving'a chamber therein adapted to receive an absorptive material Vsaturated with a disinfecting solution hav ing a slot on its inner peripheral wall to permit the escape of vapors.
2. A disinfectant container, comprising an annular memberv formed with an internal chamber having a slot on its inner annular wall communicating with said chamber, and an absorptive material saturated with a disinfecting solution arranged within the chamber.
3. A fumigator, comprising a pair of spaced rings having engaging annular flanges on their outer walls and formed with iiangeson their inner edges toward each other with their adjacent edges spaced apart toy form a slot, and an absorptive material saturated with a disinfecting solution arranged between said rings.
4. A fumigator, comprising a pair of spaced rings having engaging annular -between said rlngs, and a stopper adapted In Witness that clamthev foregoing Il have hereunto subscribed my'name this Qith l; day of October, 1914;. Y Y Y CLAUDE Hymnen.'
other with their adjacent edgesl spaced apart to form a slot, an absorptive material Saturated Wth a. drslnfectlng solution arranged to be inserted n the Space encircled by the inner flanges on said rings to seal the slot and prevent the emission of the fumes `from the container.
