To all wh0m it may concern Be it known that I, ALFRED FANTL, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the city of New York, borough of Manhattan, in the county and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Pocket, of which the following is' a full, clear, and exact description.

This invention relates to a garment for automobiliste or the like, which is provided with a suitable aperture and pocket, whereby a miniature timepiece may be held in a convenient and readily accessibleA position, and Where it will be protected from any possible loss or damage.

I am aware that revious to this time, watches have been lnserted in a bracelet strap ed on to the wrist, but this is open to the objection that when riding in an automobile with the wrist and arm covered up by the gloves and overcoat, the time cannot be ascertained without an exceedingly great amount of trouble and inconvenience. i

A11 object of this invention is to provide a device which will be -simple in construe tion, strong, durable, readily accessible, and completely protected. These and further objects, together with the construction and combination of parts, will be more fully described hereinafter, and particularly set forth in the claims.

Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification, in which similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the views and in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view, showing the lower portion of the sleeve with the watch attached thereto; Fi 2 is a vertical section on the line 2-2 of Ifig. l; and Fig. 3 is a fragmentary inside vertical view, showlng the construction of the pocket- -for the timepiece.

Referring more`particularly to the separate parts of the device, 1 indicates the sleeve of a coat, which is preferabl provided with a turned back fold 2, which may be ornamented by a velvet band 3 if desired. The fold 2 is provided with an aperture or slit 4, the edges of which are reinforced by facing strips 5, thus forming a tight buttonhole opening. cured to the sleeve by any suitable means, such as stitching 7, which formsa suitable pocket. The t'op end of the pocket is left open, and the strip of material 6 and the fold 2 are provided with co-actin male and female members' 8 and 9 of a p urality of snap catches 10, which are adapted to lock, to close the opening of the pocket. The pocket thus formed provides a suitable repository for a watch or timepiece 11, which is provided with a neck 12, that is adapted to extend through the buttonhole opening 4, and has on the outer end of the neck a dial face 13, having hands 14 thereon, which are connected to and operated in the internal time-keeping mechanism in the body ortion of the watch. There is thus provlded a watch which is in the form of a button having the head or dial 13 on one side, and the watch casing proper on the other side connected by a narrow neck which extends through the o ening 4, thereby preventing the watch rom accidentally slipping through the opening in either direction. There is thus provided a simple and efficient device, whereby the time may be readily ascertained without any unnecessary trouble, and in which the time-keeping member is thoroughly secured and protected from loss and damage.

While I have shown one form of my invention, I do notwvish to be limited to the specific details thereof, but desire to be protected in various changes, alterations and modifications which I may make, within the scope of the appended claims.

Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent 1.
