Abstract

A unit for transporting and cleaning tuberous roots is proposed, it consists of a frame, a feed conveyer, a baffle brush, a latticed cleaner, mounted with an incline, made as a hollow cone, the vertex of which is directed downwards, by transversal rods, fixed with gaps, mounted inside of the cleaner of an activator, comprised by a console driving shaft with blades and brushes, and also a blanket cleaner and an unloading conveyer.On the console driving shaft of the activator, which is arranged in the lower part of the cleaner, two cascades are rigidly fixed. Each of said cascades is formed by three elastic blades of a different size, mounted on the shaft with corresponding spacings, forming conic figures thereby, the upper of which has a vertex, which is directed upwards, and the lower conversely has the vertex directed downwards. In doing so, the spacing, with which the blades of the upper cascade are fixed on the shaft, is larger than the similar spacing of the lower cascade, and the directions of rotational movements of the cleaner and the activator are opposite.
