The applied unit for transporting and cleaning tuberous roots consists of a frame, a feed conveyer, a baffle brush, a grating cleaner, mounted inclinedly, made as a hollow cone, the vertex of which is directed downwards, formed by transversal rods fixed with spacing gaps, an activator, a blanket cleaner and an unloading conveyer. The activator is made as a scraper conveyer, a working branch of which is arranged in the lower part of the cleaner with the direction of movement "from above-downwards". The scrapers of the conveyer are mounted with a certain spacing and have ends shaped as semi-circles, feeling the internal surface of the hollow cone.
