Abstract

The applied unit for transporting and cleaning tuberous roots consists of a frame, a feed conveyer, a baffle brush, a cleaner, made as an inclinedly mounted cleaning unit, formed by driving cylindrical rollers, having pairwise counter-rotational movement, above the latters an activator is mounted. The rollers of the cleaning unit are arranged longitudinally and form thereby in the transverse plane a trough-shaped bed. The activator is made as two pairs of brushes, formed by elastic rods, which in each of the pairs are mounted with spacings to each other. The parallel console shafts of the brushes are arranged in perpendicular to the longitudinal axles of the shafts and connected with drives of rotational movement directed inside. The console parts of the driving parallel shafts are made as those kneed. The elastic rods of the brushes of the upper pair are made as hyperboloids of one sheet, and those of the lower pair as barreled ones. Between the upper and lower pairs of the brushes, inside of a cleaning bed, a driving four-blade beater with the horizontal rotational axis is mounted. The unit also comprises a finger blanket cleaner and an unloading conveyer.
