Abstract
本發明係關於一種三室電池,供製造氧化消毒劑溶液。電池之中間室是利用與陰離子交換膜密切接觸之纖維質隔膜,與陽極室隔離。
Description
本發明係關於一種三室電解電池,供生產具有消毒能力之氧化溶液,含有活性氯。
包含健康衛生用的若干工業領域內固有之消毒製程中,已知使用含活性氯之弱酸性溶液,大部份呈次氯酸形式;例如在食品工業,採用此等溶液,從各種食品之製造循環,消弭病原細菌,諸如沙門桿菌或大腸桿菌。含游離活性氯適當濃度(例如50-100ppm)的溶液,其連續製法是以電解方式在不分隔或三室電池內進行,即在電池內用半透膜或陽離子交換膜區隔,進料是氯化鹼金屬鹽水;在後一情況,所需溶液是在陽極室產生,而在相對應陰極室可得具有優良清潔性質之鹼性溶液。惟在此等系統中,所得陽極生成物之鹹度太高,不適用於許多通常之應用領域(食品工業、醫院、農業)。較優品質之陽極生成物,可利用設備三室之電解電池製得,在利用陽離子交換膜與陰極室隔開,並利用陰離子交換膜與陽極室隔開之中間室內,以濃鹽水循環。上述隔板之選擇,可讓鈉離子選擇性移動至陰極室,於此產生稀鹼溶液(例如鹽水由氯化鈉組成時,為50-100ppm之苛性鈉),而氯離子移動至陽極室,於此產生氯。惟商業上尚無陰離子膜能夠對抗含氯之酸性溶液侵襲達數十小時,儘管其似可抵抗氧化劑;三室電池內陰離子膜更換之保養成本,已證明無法充分適合工業需要。
因此,亟需提供一種電解電池,以生產含活性氯之酸性溶液,克服先前技術之缺點,尤其是組件之耐久性。
本發明之諸要旨,載明於所附申請專利範圍。
本發明一要旨係關於一種電解電池,供生產具有消毒性質之氧化溶液,電池包括陽極室和陰極室,其間介置中間室,以陽極隔板和陰
極隔板為界;把陰極室與中間室隔開的陰極隔板,由陽離子交換膜組成,而把陽極室與中間室隔開的陽極隔板,包括一隔膜,由有機聚合物纖維網以機械性結合於陶瓷材料粒所組成。在一具體例中,用做陽極隔板之隔膜,應用於或以其他方式配置成與陽離子交換膜密切接觸。在一具體例中,隔膜是由全氟聚合物和氧化鋯之複合膠帶組成,厚度在0.1至1mm之間,例如類似Industrie De Nora公司以Polyramix® Tape為商品名稱之產品。此材料膠帶的優點是,適於配置在複數重疊層,直到獲得所需厚度;另外,可直接做為隔板,或是直接應用於陰離子交換膜兩側或單側,在一具體例中,是用於朝向陽極室之側。此種隔膜可藉澱積於懸浮聚合物纖維之薄片而得,其上事先利用機械機構衝擊陶瓷顆粒,隨後經燒結和水合。澱積可按照造紙工業典型程序進行(例如利用在適當多孔性基材上過濾)。此等隔膜已證明意外適於對最通常的陰離子交換膜,賦予高度抗化學特性,同時增進其選擇性。在一具體例中,陽極室設有軟水(例如水硬度不超過7°f)進料機構,以及含游離活性氯的弱酸性氧化溶液(例如pH在4和6.9之間)抽取機構;陰極室設有類似陽極室之軟水進料機構,和鹼性陰極電解質(例如pH介於9和11間之苛性鈉溶液)抽取機構;中間室設有氯化鹼金屬鹽水,例如飽和氯化鈉鹽水之循環機構。
本發明另一要旨係關於在上述電池內,具有消毒能力的含活性氯之氧化溶液製造方法,包括把水,視情形為硬度不超過7°f之軟水,進料到陽極室,並視需要進料到陰極室;令氯化鹼金屬鹽水,視情形為飽和氯化鈉水溶液,循環通過中間室;於連接至供電單位正極的陽極室,和連接至負極的陰極室之間,饋以直流電流;從陽極室抽取氧化溶液生成物。在一具體例中,把氯化鹼金屬鹽水循環通過中間室,是通過含有分解觸媒(例如RuO2或Co3O4質)之外部貯槽進行。此優點是減少中間室內之游離氯含量,有利於保護陰離子膜,尤其是在聚合物隔膜只應用在朝向陽極室的膜側之情況。RuO2或Co3O4觸媒特別適應於此目的,因為可以應用於其適當組件的觸媒塗料形式,引進入槽內,其組件有例如鈦或其他適當材料製之板,插入槽內。可降低循環鹽水內游離氯位準之其他分解觸媒,均可用,不脫離本發明之範圍。

附圖表示本發明具體例電解電池100之側視圖,分成三室,分別為陽極室200和陰極室400,其間介置以中間室300。陽極室200含有陽極250,利用在朝向陽極室200側施於陰離子交換膜320之聚合物隔膜321,與中間室300隔離。陰極室400含有陰極450,利用陽離子交換膜340,與中間室300隔離。諸室間之密封,利用加密墊系統600確保。中間室300內有氯化鈉或其他類氯化鹼金屬鹽水510之飽和溶液,借助槽500進行循環。槽500內視情形含有分解觸媒,例如二氧化釕,以金屬性組份施加(圖上未示)。
陽極室200透過適當供應機構(圖上未示)供應軟水210;從此室抽取含活性氯之氧化溶液生成物220,略呈酸性pH。陰極室400亦進料軟水410;在一具體例中,把分別進料至陽極室200(以下稱陽極電解質)和陰極室400(以下稱陰極電解質)之軟水進料210和410統一。在另一具體例中,只有陽極室200供以軟水210。從陰極室400抽取鹹度可忽略之鹼金屬稀溶液420,適用做許多工業用途之清洗劑。
下列實施例用以證明本發明特殊具體例,其實用性在所申請之數值範圍內已大獲證實。凡技術專家均知,下述實施例內揭示之組成份和技術代表本發明所發現在本發明實施方面功能良好之組成份和技術;惟技術專家有鑑於本內容,可知在所揭示特殊具體例內可有許多改變,仍可得相同或相似結果,不脫離本發明範圍。

極隔板,包括Fumatec製品FAP-0型陰離子交換膜320,有二層Industrie De Nora製品Polyramix®膠帶型0.5mm厚聚合物隔膜膠帶321,在朝向陽極室200之側面重疊,由PTFE纖維網組成,以Zr顆粒改質,係由纖維之水性懸浮液,澱積薄片,在100℃乾燥,於345℃燒結90分鐘,並於含有0.1% Zonyl®表面活性劑而pH11之稀苛性鈉內,在溫度90℃調理60分鐘而得。陽極室200和陰極室400分別進料4°f軟水組成之陽極電解質和陰極電解質。中間室300加料99%純度NaCl所得飽和鹽水510,來自儲槽500,內含一些鈦板,塗RuO2為基質之漆;在出口的鹽水510循環至槽500,如圖所示。陰極電解質410以固定流量1 l/min進料,而陽極電解質210和鹽水510則在多次測試中變化,於整流器的正極連接到陽極250,和負極連接到陰極450後,饋以6A直流電(相當於電流密度1kA/m2)。所得活性氯製造效率的最佳結果,是陽極電解質210流量0.6 l/min,而鹽水510流量0.7 l/min。在如此條件下,可連續產生氧化溶液220,含65-70ppm游離活性氯,pH正好超過6。測試連續650小時,得一貫的效能。連續監測循環鹽水510內累積活性氯,所得數值一直在1ppm/h以下。測試結束時,開啟電池,任何組件未有可目視之損壞。
使用類似上述實施例組裝之電解電池,陽極隔板除外,是僅由FAP-0型陰離子交換膜320組成,未介置任何聚合物隔膜321。在同樣電流密度進行測試,陽極電解質210流量0.6 l/min,陰極電解質510流量0.7 l/min。在如此條件,可連續產生氧化溶液220,含80ppm游離活性氯,pH約6。於測試當中,在循環鹽水510內,發現活性氯累積約2ppm/h。約50小時後,測試被迫停止,由於陽離子膜突然損壞,透過生成物溶液220之鈉離子污染測知。以不同陽離子膜(旭硝子公司製品Selemion®)重複測試,得實質上相似結果。
前述無意做為本發明之限制,而是可按照不同具體例使用,不悖其範圍,而其程度以後附申請專利範圍為準。

Claims (8)
- 一種製造含活性氯的氧化溶液所用電解電池,包括含有陽極之陽極室,和含有陰極之陰極室,以及配置於其間以陽極隔板和陰極隔板為界之中間室,該陰極隔板介置於該陰極室和該中間室之間,包括陽離子交換膜,該陽極隔板介於該陽極室和該中間室之間,包括隔膜,由有機聚合物纖維網,經機械式結合陶瓷材料顆粒所形成,該隔膜係以一層或多層配置成與陰離子交換膜密切接觸,其中該陽極隔板係以該隔膜組成之主要表面,朝該陽極定向者。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項之電解電池,其中該陽極隔板之該隔膜係由全氟聚合物和氧化鋯之0.1至1mm厚複合膠帶製成者。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項之電解電池,其中該陽極室設有水供應機構和含活性氯的氧化溶液抽取機構,該陰極室設有水供應機構和鹼性陰極電解質抽取機構,該中間室設有氯化鹼金屬鹽水之循環機構者。
- 一種在申請專利範圍第1項電解電池內製造含有活性氯的氧化溶液之方法,包括下列同時或接續步驟:‧供應水至該陽極室,和視情形至該陰極室;‧令氯化鹼金屬鹽水通過中間室循環;‧於該陽極和該陰極之間,供應直流電流;‧從該陽極室抽取氧化生成物溶液者。
- 如申請專利範圍第4項之方法,其中供應至該陽極室和陰極室之該水,具有硬度不超過7°f者。
- 如申請專利範圍第5項之方法,其中從該陽極室抽取之該氧化溶液,具有pH為4至6.9者。
- 如申請專利範圍第4項之方法,其中該氯化鹼金屬鹽水係飽和氯化鈉鹽水者。
