Description

本申請案概略關於同軸電纜連接器之領域，更具體而言係關於一種同軸電纜連接器，其能夠可靠地收納與固定不同尺寸之界面埠。
同軸電纜連接器常見於一些應用，其中包括寬頻與有線電視(CATV,Cable television)通訊等等。這些型式的電纜連接器能與多種電氣裝置電性連接，例如電視、電腦，以及其它電氣用品及/或界面。在一個習知的態樣中，一種同軸電纜連接器，例如壓縮式連接器，其具有一可旋轉耦合螺帽，其中具有接合於在一互補式界面埠上所裝設及在該電氣用品或裝置上所裝設的相對應螺紋之一組內螺紋，藉以將由該連接器固定的一同軸電纜整合於多種電子與通訊設備。該耦合螺帽環繞該外部螺紋的界面埠旋轉，以提供機械式接合。當該耦合螺帽被繫緊時，該界面埠被固定於該連接器，其中面向該界面埠之表面的一徑向末端直接接合於該連接器之一柱的凸緣，在其上固定有該製備的同軸電纜末端，藉此確保在一旦該連接器被繫緊時可維持一適當的機械式以及電氣連接。
雖然上述型式的電纜連接器很有用，習知界面埠會根據它們特定的應用或所要的用途而具有不同的尺寸。為此 目的，可能會有關於該電纜連接器的繫緊問題，以及關於在其間達到適當的機械式與電氣匹配之問題。此外，亦要考慮到驗證一種適當的同軸電纜連接器配合相關之界面埠使用。
此外，在連接器的領域中一般性的考量係關於有效地維持電氣導通。在上述型式的同軸電纜連接器中，一外部埠與該連接器之間連接的鬆脫能夠可靠地防止其中會產生雜訊與其它電性干擾的遮蔽。如上所述，有效的電氣導通僅在當該界面埠之徑向端面被壓縮式接合於該柱之凸緣時可實現。因此，亦有利的是提供一種同軸電纜連接器，該連接器即使是在當該連接並未最佳地繫緊時的情況下仍可較佳地維持電氣導通。
因此根據本發明的一個態樣，提供一種同軸電纜連接器，該連接器包含一連接器本體、一耦合螺帽與一柱。該耦合螺帽為螺紋式地連接至該柱的一凸緣部，並可自由地旋轉，而且可與其軸向地移動。

根據另一個態樣，提供一種同軸電纜的連接器，該連接器包含一連接器本體，其具有相對的第一與第二端，及通過其中的一中央孔；一柱，其具有配裝在該連接器本體之內的一第一端，用於接合一製備的同軸電纜末端；及一耦合螺帽。該耦合螺帽接收該柱的一第二端，並可自由地轉動。該柱的第一端包括一埠固定部或管座，其具有一外螺紋表面用於接合該耦合螺帽的內螺紋。不論是否有螺紋的一界面埠能夠藉由該耦合螺帽的接合而固定至該連接器，其中該埠固定部徑向地接合該埠，並固定該埠。

此處所述之同軸電纜連接器的另一個優點在於可改善使用的簡易性以及多功能性。
又另一個優點為整體較簡單，藉此對於製造而言可產生成本降低的效果，並對於消費者而言可以節省。
這些與其它的技術特徵與優點將可由以下的「實施方式」進行瞭解，其必須配合附屬圖式來解讀。
以下的說明係關於一種同軸電纜連接器，其可適應地並可靠地以穩固方式固定不同尺寸(即直徑)與種類的複數界面埠，而不會犧牲機械性或電氣整合性，並仍維持一致的電氣導通。雖然以下的具體實施例具體地關於某種壓縮式同軸電纜連接器，將可立即瞭解例如其它連接器設計，像是F型、RCA(Radio Corporation of America)與BNC(Bayonet Neill-Concelman)式連接器等等，皆能夠在此處簡易地使用，同時其它型式的連接器亦可螺紋式地連接至一界面埠。此外，整個說明書中使用的數種詞彙係要提供對該等附屬圖式之適當的參考架構，像是「遠端」、「近端」、「內部」、「外部」及類似者。但是這些詞彙並非要過度限制此處所述之發明概念，除了有特別指明之處以外。
為了提供一種適當的起始背景之目的，在說明該示例性具體實施例之前，首先參照描繪一先前技術的同軸電纜連接器之第1圖與第2圖。此同軸電纜的連接器在以下標示為參考編號100，其在第1圖中以分解的型式顯示。連接器100由一具有數個分離組件的組裝件所界定，其可操作 式地固定於一同軸電纜末端10，該電纜具有一護套12或套筒、一遮蔽層14、一內部或中間介電層16與一中央導體18。同軸電纜末端10藉由移除護套12的一軸向部而被抽回，如第1圖所示，然後抽回遮蔽層14，其可被編織，藉以暴露中間介電層16之一軸向部。同軸電纜末端10之額外製備可包括剝除或去芯中間介電層16，藉以暴露中央導體18的一部份。
如所述，為了此典型的連接器100之目的，連接器100包括分離的組件，其包括一耦合螺帽30、一柱40、一連接器本體50、一壓縮構件60或套筒及一連接器本體密封構件80，例如O型環。
現在將簡短說明第1圖與第2圖之同軸電纜連接器的該等組件，如下所述：首先，根據此態樣的耦合螺帽30由一導電材料形成，該螺帽具有一第一端31與一相對的第二端32。一組內螺紋33由第一端31的邊緣延伸一充份的軸向距離，其允許有效的螺紋接觸於一界面埠20之外螺紋23(如第1圖中部份所示)。耦合螺帽30另包括一凸緣34，在此例中為一環狀突出物，其設置成鄰近第二端32，在其中界定一凸緣。

根據此習知連接器態樣的壓縮構件60由一圓柱形套筒式區段所界定，其另分別包括相對的第一與第二端61、62。第一與第二端61、62藉由一中央通道65相互連接，該通道具有複數區段，其中包括鄰接於具有一第一內徑的第一 端61之一第一直徑區段67，及鄰接於具有小於該第一內徑的一第二內徑的第二端之一第二直徑區段68。設於第一與第二直徑區段67、68中間處的轉換區段66係由一內部斜面所界定。
仍請參照第1圖與第2圖，此處所述之同軸電纜的連接器100用於可靠地固定一製備的同軸電纜末端10。在此配置中，製備的同軸電纜末端10，包括中央導體18的延伸軸向段，經由其第二端52以及通過壓縮構件60的中央通道65被插入到連接器本體50的內部當中。該柱40之第一端41配裝並固定至連接器本體50之中接合去芯的介電層16與遮蔽層14之間的同軸電纜末端10。根據此態樣，壓縮構件60接著藉由一壓縮工具(未示出)或其它者被軸向地前進到連接器本體50之外部之上，使得壓縮構件60的內部斜面可接合，並藉此以一徑向方式向內地壓縮連接器本體50的可變形軸向部份53，藉此將同軸電纜末端10固定於連接器100之內。該電纜並未示於第2圖。介電層16與中央導體18皆被前進到該柱的軸部43，而已前進的同軸電纜末端10之護套12與遮蔽層14藉由該柱與該壓縮工具(未示出)及該前進的壓縮構件60之動作而被額外地剝除，其軸向地通過連接器本體50之外部之上。
同時，最清楚地如第2圖所示，此處所述之同軸電纜的連接器100之耦合螺帽30被固定至柱40的第一端41，並安裝於其上，藉以允許自由旋轉，而中央導體18(在此視 圖中未示出)延伸通過柱的凸緣44，並由該耦合螺帽向外延伸。更具體而言，並根據此先前技術態樣，耦合螺帽30被允許經由其旋轉而達到一限制性軸向移動，其中使得螺帽的凸緣34在當該螺帽接合於第1圖之一界面埠20時，直接接合於柱40之環狀的凸緣44成為一機械式制動器。
然後界面埠20之外螺紋23以螺紋方式接合於此處所述之連接器100的耦合螺帽30之內螺紋33，使得該耦合螺帽在當該螺帽的凸緣34接合柱40的凸緣44時經由螺紋式螺帽之限制性軸向移動而被固定於其上。當耦合螺帽30已經完全繫緊時，基於在柱40之環狀的凸緣44與界面埠20之末端徑向面之間產生的壓縮性接觸而開始有電氣導通。如所述者且雖然有效，以上的同軸電纜之連接器100會依賴同軸電纜的連接器100之界面埠20與耦合螺帽30之間特定的公差匹配，藉以適當地提供其間的有效連接。但是對於此處所述之同軸電纜的連接器100而言，不存在可容許的變化性以容納不同尺寸的界面埠。
現在請參考第3圖至第10圖，根據一示例性具體實施例說明根據本發明的一種同軸電纜連接器。請先參考第3圖與第4圖，分解圖說明用於收納與固定一製備的同軸電纜末端10之同軸電纜的連接器(此處標示為參考編號200)。根據此示例性具體實施例的連接器200亦為一種壓縮式同軸電纜連接器，其中類似該前述先前技術態樣者為由一些組件所界定的一組裝件，其中包括一連接器本體 220、一柱230、一耦合螺帽240與一壓縮構件250。
請參照第3圖與第4圖，根據此示例性具體實施例之連接器本體220由一實質上圓柱形的構件所界定，其中包括分別相對的第一與第二端222、224，以及一中央通道225(僅於第3圖中標示)，後者由具有不同直徑的相鄰孔所界定。此外，鄰接於連接器本體220之第一端222的為一柱安裝部223。柱安裝部223為連接器本體220之一窄化或頸狀部，其係配置成當該柱前進到該本體內一預定軸向距離時，即軸向地固定柱230，藉以提供彼此之固定。為了此目的，連接器本體220可由任何便利的程序所形成，並可由導電性或非導電性材料製成，或者為導電性與非導電性材料之組合所形成。
鄰接於連接器本體220的第二端224之一軸向外側部226由一可變形材料所製成，該材料可允許在施加徑向壓力之下的壓縮，而促進一環狀密封墊的形成。一環狀止動裝置或其它特徵係位在連接器本體220之外部表面上並鄰近第二端224與該本體的內部表面，其包括複數表面特徵，例如環狀鋸齒229(僅如第3圖所示)，其亦相對於連接器本體220之第二端而鄰近地設置。
仍請參照第3圖與第4圖，根據此具體實施例所述之連接器200的柱230由一實質上管狀本體所界定，其具有一第一端232與一相對的第二端234，該柱由一實質上硬式金屬材料所製成，例如黃銅或鋼，其皆為導電性。另外， 柱230可由導電性與非導電性材料的組合所製成；例如，可施加一金屬被覆或導電性外層至由非導電性的另一種材料製成的一內部聚合物核心。柱230的第二端234之尺寸可配裝在柱安裝部223之內，並進入到連接器本體220之中央通道225當中，用於接合一製備的同軸電纜末端10，藉以接合並提供一製備的同軸電纜末端10的遮蔽層14與管狀的柱230之間的實質性電氣與機械式接觸，藉此將其接地。至少一外部表面特徵，例如一唇緣或突出物(未示出)，其可接合連接器本體220的柱安裝部223，構成柱230的軸向固定。或者是，這種特徵在當同軸電纜末端10藉由一摩擦連接或壓合連接或使用其它組件特徵或結構而固定時並非必要，藉以將柱230軸向地與旋轉式地維持在連接器200中的定位。一中央通道235延伸於柱230的凸緣第一端232與相對的第二端234之間，其中前者由一埠固定部或管座236所界定。
請參照第3圖至第5圖，根據此具體實施例之管座236由一圓柱形收納腔穴與一周緣壁面所界定，該周緣壁面另由鄰近該管座的一遠端處自其延伸的複數相隔之軸向溝槽237所界定。管座236的軸向溝槽237之數目以及它們之間的間隔可做適當變化。根據此示例性具體實施例，環繞界定管座236的周緣壁面之周圍設置有彼此呈相等的60度間隔的六個軸向溝槽237。這些軸向溝槽237與該周緣壁面之邊界上周邊區段共同形成一組可撓性彈簧指部，以及形成 一鎖定夾套，該等溝槽由管座236的遠端延伸至一中間軸向長度。

仍請主要參照第3圖與第4圖，耦合螺帽240具有一 第一端242與一相對第二端244。根據此具體實施例，耦合螺帽240另包括一組內螺紋245，其延伸在一對末端凸緣246之間的其至少一軸向部之上方，其較佳地是形成斜面。耦合螺帽240以覆蓋方式安裝至柱230的第一端上，並鄰接連接器本體220之第一端222，並可移動地(軸向地)及可旋轉式地連接用於限制性軸向移動，如第6圖所示。耦合螺帽240可同時由導電性材料及非導電性材料，或其組合所形成，其中該螺帽的外部表面247可有凸邊，如此處所述，藉以便於簡易使用。

隨著如上所述，將製備的同軸電纜末端10固定於該連接器之內，一界面埠270即對準於此處所述之同軸電纜的連接器200。更具體而言，遠端匹配端272與接合的界面埠 270之導電容座271被軸向地對準於耦合螺帽240，使得該界面埠起始位在鄰接於柱230的管座236，而同軸電纜末端10之中央導體18對準於接合的界面埠270之導電容座271。
一旦對準之後，並如第6圖至第10圖所示，根據此示例性具體實施例，耦合螺帽240可藉由將耦合螺帽240以逆時針方向旋轉而螺紋式地前進，其使該耦合螺帽沿著接合的界面埠270軸向地前進。當耦合螺帽240沿著管座236的外螺紋239旋轉時，使得管座236的彈簧指部徑向地向內延伸，接合成緊密接觸於前進中之界面埠270遠端的外螺紋之上。因此，可形成固定，而不用考慮接合的界面埠270之具體直徑，這與此種先前技術的同軸電纜連接相反，例如那些對於第1圖與第2圖之先前說明。此外且雖然目前大多數的界面埠為螺紋式，這些螺紋並非完全必要用來接合至本連接器。

Claims (10)

  1. 一種同軸電纜之連接器，該連接器包含：一柱，其具有一第一端、一第二端及一外部表面；一連接器本體，其具有一柱安裝部，該柱安裝部係配置成與該柱的該外部表面匹配；及一耦合螺帽，其可旋轉地連接至該柱的第一端，該耦合螺帽包括一組內螺紋，該柱的第一端另包括界定一鎖定夾套的一埠固定部，該埠固定部之至少一軸向段包括外螺紋，其可接合於該耦合螺帽的內螺紋，藉此使得多種尺寸的界面埠可接合於該連接器。
  2. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之連接器，其中該柱的第二端延伸到該連接器本體之一中央通道當中，並軸向地固定於其中。
  3. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之連接器，其中該連接器為一F型連接器。
  4. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之連接器，另包括一壓縮構件用於將一同軸電纜末端固定於該連接器本體之內。

  7. 一種同軸電纜之連接器，其包含：一連接器本體，其包括其尺寸可收納一製備的同軸電纜末端之一中空內部，其中該連接器本體包括一柱安裝部；一柱，其具有一對相對末端，其中該等末端之一的尺寸係要配裝至該連接器本體當中，用於接合該同軸電纜末端來將其固定，該柱於該第一端處相對於該連接器本體為可旋轉及軸向地固定，該柱的其餘端包括一埠固定部，其中該連接器本體的該柱安裝部係配置成與該柱的一外部表面匹配；及一耦合螺帽，其可旋轉地連接至該埠固定部的外部，該耦合螺帽包括一組內螺紋用於接合在該埠固定部上的外螺紋，該埠固定部界定一鎖定夾套，其經配置用於接合一界面埠，其中該耦合螺帽在一繫緊方向上的旋轉使得該鎖定夾套接合於該界面埠上，並固定該界面埠。
