200902294 九、發明說明 【發明所屬之技術領域】 本發明係有關於一種用來製做中空物體的改良的預塑 坯,特別是透過吹塑(Blow-Moulding)製程器來製做的 各種型式及尺寸的瓶子。 【先前技術】 如同熟悉此領域之人士所知曉的,塑膠材料的瓶或罐 的製造在今日幾乎全是透過二階段製程來加以進行的,而 此二階段製程包括有製造及使用具有大致上圓柱狀形狀之 中空半成品,稱爲預塑坯或型坯(Parison )。在此製程 的第一階段中是一由少數幾家專門的製造商以極端集中的 方式-完成中空預塑坯的製造,而該等預塑坯係具有大的 厚度及長向及橫向尺寸,其相對於製造完成之瓶子而言是 約1:2至1:4的比例。在此製程的第二階段中—其通常是 在要裝瓶之液體進行裝瓶的同一工廠內進行的一該等中空 預塑坯會被置入至一模具內、加熱至足以使其達成必要之 軟化的溫度、透過一導入至預塑坯內的伸展桿加以伸展至 瓶子的最終長度’因之而能透過在加熱及伸展開之預塑坯 內導入一股或多股壓縮空氣流而進行吹塑模製。 此種製造系統可以在整個製造鏈中得到多種顯著的好 處,其等係熟知此領域之人士所知曉者,故在此不再加以 重述,而這些好處-如同稍早所提及的一造成此種製造系 統的全球性採用,用來製做中空物體,特別是各種型式、 -4- 200902294 形狀及尺寸的瓶子。 詳細地說’前述的製程是特別適合應用於透明塑膠材 料的應用上,例如PET (聚乙烯對苯二甲酸酯),其在吹 製的製程中’會使結晶結構定向爲能在瓶子上造成極佳之 機械特性,即使是在極小的材料最終厚度値下。 針對此種型式的瓶子,不斷地在開發能使製程最佳化 的硏究’以便能-在相同的最終瓶子容積下-將所使用的 塑膠材料的量加以減少,因之而能減少瓶子的最終成本。 直到今曰’這些硏究一方面主要是針對所製成之瓶子的形 狀加以變化(用以形成最大的形狀穩定性),另一方面則 是調整不同的模製參數(預塑坯的伸展比、加熱溫度、噴 吹之空氣的壓力等等)。 而大致上沒有隨著時間改變而保持不變的是預塑坯的 形狀,其如前所述,包含有一中空的圓柱狀本體,具有均 一或不定的厚度,其開放末端則已具有瓶頸部位的最終形 狀一因此亦具有用來結合螺旋瓶蓋的必要螺紋-而其封閉 末端在大部份的情形中則是半球形。 爲能在製成之瓶子中減少留存於其底部中心區域內而 不具有直接之用途的塑膠材料的量,曾有非球形頭部之預 塑坯’特別是具有圓錐狀、橢圓形或拋物形頭部者,被提 出且曾被部份地加以使用。但是,雖然此等型式的預塑坯 在預塑坯的製做上,實際上是有一些好處,可因熔融塑膠 材料(其事實上是對應於預塑坯封閉末端之頂端而射出 的)之流動路徑的較佳流線化而提供模製時間上適度的縮 -5- 200902294 短,但他們在縮減預塑坯之重量上並沒有提供可以明顯感 受得到的效果,因爲在製做完成的瓶子內的材料分佈最後 看起來仍不會與透過具有半球形頭部之預塑坯來製成的瓶 子有顯著的不同。 【發明內容】 因此,本發明的目的是要提供一種改良的預塑坯,其 在由其所製得的瓶子的尺寸及機械特性是相同的情形下, 與目前所使用之已知型式預塑坯相比較下,具有明顯減輕 的重量。 本發明的另一目的在於提供一種改良的預塑坯,藉由 之其可以將由其所製做之瓶子內的重量減輕集中於瓶子底 部的中心區域內。 根據本發明,這些目的的達成是在於一種具有申請專 利範圍第1項內所涵蓋之特點的預塑坯。而本發明之預塑 坯的其他特點則是界定於申請專利範圍的附屬項內。 本發明的其他特點及優點可自下面有關於本發明之一 較佳實施例的說明中而得知。 【實施方式】 如圖式中所清楚顯示的,根據本發明的預塑坯1就以 已知方式設有螺紋及肋部以供包覆並抵靠瓶子之螺旋瓶蓋 的開放末端2的形狀及預塑坯之本體3的長條圓柱狀形狀 等二方面而言,均完全是習知的結構。 -6- 200902294 事實上’本發明之預塑坯的新穎處是僅在於預塑坯之 封閉末端或頭部4的形狀上,在對應於其中心部位處形成 有一軸向突起部5 ’以適當的圓角連接至頭部4的其餘側 邊部位上。頭部4的該其餘側邊部位可以具有前述之任何 一種已知的形狀,最好是具有半球形的形狀。 突起部5的形狀及其尺寸並沒有特別的限制,因爲此 突起部的內徑只要大到能夠在模製過程開始時,將預塑坯 的伸展桿(未顯示)的尖端容置於其內即可。在所示的實 施例中’突起部5也是具有半徑爲R的半球狀形狀,且最 好是由具有相同半徑R的彎曲而外部內凹的表面加以做圓 角連接至封閉末端4的側邊部位上。 突起部5的半徑R及其相對於與完全爲半球形之頭部 (圖式中以虛線表示者)的理論頂點相切之切面的整體高 度h ’可決定本發明之預塑坯的特性。該R所能採用的最 小値’即R = Rmin,如前所述,係對應於突起部5的內 徑’以供該預塑坯的伸展桿做緊密配合地插入至其內;而 該R所能使用的最大値,即R = Rmax,則是相當於D/2, 其中D是預塑坯之圓柱狀中心部位3的直徑。在預塑坯 之整體高度Η相等下,此預塑坯的重量減輕效果當然是 在R = Rmin時最大’而在R = Rmax時,亦即在本發明預塑坯 的頭部4形狀與習用具有完全爲半球形頭部之模具相一致 時’該效果則是最小’或者更準確地說是沒有。 相同的結果亦可適用於突起部5的高度h上,因爲很 明顯的-同樣在預塑坯的高度Η相同之下一自最小値 200902294 hmin = 〇開始起算,商度h愈大’預塑还的重量減輕就愈 大,其中本發明的預塑坯的頭部4形狀是與習用具有完全 爲半球狀頭部的預塑坯相同。 在前述的變化範圍內,突起部5的尺寸及形狀可依所 需的結果,基於喜好而加以改變’以便能例如將預塑坯的 重量減損集中於與由其所製成之瓶子的底部中心區域相對 應的位置處,或是針對其他隨時可能會有用或方便於個別 不同之應用的目的。 基於前述所述之本發明預塑坯的特定形狀,其顯著的 效果可以由具有較相同厚度及高度之已知型式預塑坯爲小 之重量的預塑坯來加以達成,這是因爲本發明的預塑坯的 整個表面是明顯地具有較相對應之完全爲半球形頭部而具 有相同高度的習用預塑坯爲小的展開面積。如此所獲致的 預塑坯的重量減輕量可以達到約3-5%,而此顯著的效果 至少可以在不用改變預塑坯其他特性下來進一步達成之, 特別是其軸向伸展比例。該伸展桿可能需要改變其末端部 位以配合於突起部5的內部形狀,以因之而使本發明之預 塑坯的伸長情形可與其會在具有相同高度Η且具有半球 頭部的習用預塑坯上所造成者相同。此伸展動作可以更平 均而均勻,因爲突起部5已經具有該預塑坯變形後會有的 斜度。 因此本發明的預塑坯可以取代習用的預塑坯,而無需 對吹塑製程加以做新的調校,因之而能以一種簡單而直接 的方式來獲致預塑坯重量上顯著的減輕,因之而得到成品 -8- 200902294 瓶子重量的顯著減輕,故此可達成本發明的第一目的。透 過適當地調整突起部5的尺寸參數,其亦可將重量減輕集 中於對應由吹塑該預塑坯所得到之瓶子的底部中心部位 處,因此亦可達成本發明的第二目的。此一目的是特別的 重要,因爲其可以改善瓶子對於撞擊的抵抗力、消除或是 顯著地減少脆弱區域,其在習用瓶子中係包括瓶子底部之 環狀條帶區域,其間是小厚度側邊區域與大厚度中心區域 間的轉接區域。 前文中配合於本發明的較佳實施例來說明本發明,但 很明顯的,仍有許多使用本發明原則的實施例是不同於前 述的實施例。因此,本發明絕不應被前述實施例的結構所 加以限制,而僅應由下附申請專利範圍中的本發明範圍來 加以決定。 【圖式簡單說明】 第1圖顯示出根據本發明之改良圓柱形預塑坯的示意 側視圖。 【主要元件符號說明】 1 :預塑坯 2 :開放末端 3 :本體 4 :封閉末端 5 :突起部 -9-

- 200902294 十、申請專利範圍 1· 一種塑膠預塑坯(1),係用以透過吹塑製程來製 做中空物體,其中該預塑坯(1)包含有一大致上圓柱狀 的中心本體(3),其具有一開口末端(2)及一封閉末端 (4),其特徵在於該封閉末端(4)在其中心區域處設有 一中空突起部(5),自該預塑坯(1)向外突出。 2 ·如申請專利範圍第1項所述之塑膠預塑坯,其中該 中空物體是一瓶子或一罐,且該開放末端(2)形成爲製 做完成之瓶子或罐的頸部區域及其瓶蓋的固著部。 3 .如申請專利範圍第1項或第2項所述之塑膠預塑 坯,其中至少該突起部(5)的中心部位具有球狀、橢圓 形或拋物形的形狀。 4 ·如申請專利範圍第3項所述之塑膠預塑坯,其中該 突起部(5 )是以圓角連接至該預塑坯(1 )之該封閉末端 (4 )的其餘側邊部位上。 5 .如申請專利範圍第4項所述之塑膠預塑坯,其中該 突起部(5 )具有球形形狀。 6.如申請專利範圍第5項所述之塑膠預塑坯,其中該 突起部(5 )具有一半徑(R ),係等於將該突起部(5 ) 連接至該預塑坯(1 )之該封閉末端(4 )之該其餘側邊部 位上的該外部內凹表面的半徑。 7 ·如申請專利範圍第6項所述之塑膠預塑坯,其中該 封閉末端(4 )鄰接於該中心突起部(5 )的該側邊部位具 有球狀、橢圓形或拋物形的形狀。 -10- 200902294 8 .如申請專利範圍第7項所述之塑膠預塑坯,其中該 中心突起部(5 )具有一內部空隙,其至少是足以容置該 預塑坯之一伸展桿的自由末端。
