Description

The proposed fuel pump is regulated, as usual, by the fact that the shut-off valve opens until the end of the pumping stroke of the plunger, thereby stopping the fuel supply.

So far, a double-entry has been made: either the suction valve has been made simultaneously shut-off, opening it with a lever connected to the regulator, or, in addition to the self-acting suction valve, a special shut-off valve has been added. The first method has the advantage of simplicity, but suffers from the disadvantage that, in view of the need to impart a large cross-section to the suction valve, the back pressure on the regulator from the open side of the valve, which is under high fluid pressure, reaches dimensions that are reflected at work. A special shut-off valve device is disadvantageous in that it requires a special opening for it and an additional spring-loaded and proper direction valve body, and, moreover, a connection of the space from which the fuel is drawn in must be arranged behind the shut-off valve shut-off valve fluid, which, of course, causes a rise in price compared with the first method. According to the invention, the suction and shut-off valves are connected so that a smaller valve is opened inside the suction valve, which is opened by the control coming from the regulator in order to interrupt the injection. With a sufficiently large cross section, this smaller valve may act as a shut off valve, or, after opening a smaller valve, is carried along with
