[Also in Divisions H1 and H2] The Specification describes a process for extruding insulation on sodium, potassium, lithium, cesium, rubidium or an alloy of one or more of these elements. In the process, pressurized molten polyolefine resin is fed from an extruder 20 to a cross-head die 22 to form an extruded tube 12 and simultaneously pressurized molten sodium metal is fed from a tank 24 (blanketed with nitrogen) through the crosshead die 22 to form an extruded sodium conductor within the polyolefine tube 12.
