Elektrisches Kabel
Electric cable
It is known to use electrical conductors with an insulation
Surrounding a layer of plastic. Polyvinyl chloride or polyolefins, for example, are suitable for the production of such cables provided with plastic insulation.
In cases where particularly high demands are placed on the electrical properties
the cable insulation are already made of polyfluoroolefins, such as polytetrafluoroethylene
or polychlorotrifluoroethylene has been used as the insulation material.
An die physikalischen Eigenschaften von Kabelisolationsmaterialien
werden hauptsächlich die folgenden Anforderungen gestellt : 1. Hoher elektrischer
On the physical properties of cable insulation materials
The following requirements are mainly made: 1. High electrical
Insulation resistance 2o. High dielectric strength 3. Good temperature resistance
at
Cables used in the high frequency sector also play the dielectric
Properties of the insulation material, such as the dielectric constant and the
dielectric dissipation factor plays a role.
an (3).
bestehen. In order to improve the dielectric properties of plastic cable insulation, plastic foam bodies have already been used for the insulation. So are for example insulating sleeves made of foamed polyvinyl
chloride became known.
The cable according to the application, which has a jacket as insulation
has made of a foamed polyfluoroolefin, combines the
good insulation properties of polyfluoroolefins with the improvements in dielectric properties brought about by the foaming of the insulation material can be achieved.
The structure of a cable according to the application is from
attached figure.
The cable consists of the core (1), which consists of an electrical
conductive material of known type9 for example copper or
Consists of aluminum.
If the conductive metal with the insulation from the poly-
fluoroolefin is in direct contact, it is advisable to cover it with a coating made of a corrosion-resistant material, e.g. B. silver, tin or nickel to provide en or with a commercially available wire enamel, provided that it withstands the temperatures that occur when the polyfluoroolefin insulation is subsequently applied. This intermediate layer is marked with (2) in the figure. However, it can also be omitted, in particular if the electrically conductive material as such is corrosion-resistant to the insulation material, for example if the electrical conductor is made of silver or nickel. The next layer to the outside then closes

on (3). Polyfluoroolefins suitable for insulation are
for example polychlorotrifluoroethylene, copolymers from
Chlorotrifluoroethylene and vinylidene fluoride, copolymers from
Hexafluoropropylene and tetrafluoroethylene or other homo- and copolymers of the monomers mentioned. The insulation can be applied to the conductor in the form of a hose firmly connected to the conductor, for example on an extruder. However, it is also possible to wrap the insulation in the form of a ribbon around the conductor9. If desired, an outer jacket (4) can be laid over this insulation. This can consist, for example, of a colored coating, as is customary for identifying cable cores, or of a metal shielding that is customary for high-frequency cables.
Of course, multicore can also be used in the same way

The cables according to the application are characterized by particularly good electrical properties
and thermal properties.
Due to the favorable dielectric constant and the dielectric
Loss factor of the material, for example, the attenuation is greatly reduced,
which saves repeater offices when these cables are used as telephone cables
can be.
