Inventia se refera la un procedeu pentru prepararea unui derivat peptidic ciclic A-21978 C, procedeu ce consta în faptul ca, o peptida ciclica ce are unii radicali hidrogen sau o grupa de protectie amino, reactioneaza cu un acid de formula generala: (vezi formula) sau un derivat al acestuia, selectionat dintre o clorura acida, un ester activ sau o anhidrida, în care R6 înseamna alcanoil, în mediu de dimetilformamida sau piridina, la o temperatura de 20...60 degree C, timp de 3...25h, grupele amino putînd fi eventual protejate în timpul reactiei, dupa care produsul obtinut poate fi transformat în saruri acceptabile farmaceutic si orice grupa de protectie amino poate fi îndepartata, daca se doreste.
