Abstract

En fremgangsmåte for overføring av data i et nett av typen synkront digitalt hierarki (SDH) omfatter trinn hvor en form for datasignal fra utsiden av nettet sendes til et knutepunkt i nettet, signalet konverteres til en virtuelt sammenkjedet informasjonsstruktur og signalet transporteres gjennom nettet i den virtuelt sammenkjedede informasjonsstruktur. Utstyr for å utføre fremgangsmåten og underordnede kort er anordnet og utformet for å behandle signaler mottatt i sammenhengende sammenkjedet form for å konvertere dem til en virtuelt sammenkjedet form for overføring over nettet. Det sørges således for at data overføres i sammenhengende sammenkjedede signaler (dvs.VC-4-4c) med stor båndbredde for å bli transportert over et SDH-nett som selv ikke er istand til å bære sammenhengende sammenkjedede signaler.
