Abstract
Et formål med oppfinnelsen er å tilveiebringe en fremgangsmåte for frem- stilling av aluminium-legering ved ef- fektiv anvendelse av aluminiun-residuet som inneholder en lav prosentandel av aluminium-metall som industriavfall. Vektprosent-andelen av Al2O3:Si02:C = 40:33:27 opprettholdes som komponent- forholdet i en brikett av aluminium- residuum, en masse av silika-bergart og en masse av amrasitt. Blandingen med en opprettholdt vektprosentandel innføres kontinuerlig i en elektrisk smelteovn for fremstilling av karbid. Den elek- triske smelteovn er forsynt med tre selvbrennende elektroder med en diameter på 1400 mm og en transformator-kapasitet på 30 000 kVA. Mens elektrodene er ned- senket til en dybde på ca. l m og tem- peraturen i lysbueområdet holdes mellom 2200 og 2400'C, utføres smeltereduksjo- nen. Når i alt 170 tonn aluminium- residuum-brikett ble innført i den elek- triske smelteovn, fikk man 100 tonn Al- Si-Fe-legering. Aluminium-legeringen kan anvendes som desoksyderingsmiddel eller temperaturøkende middel ved jern- og stålfremstilling ved forskjellige fremstillingsprosesser og behov.
