Abstract

Oppfinnelsen vedrører en fremgangsmåte og en anordning for vertikalstrengestøping av metall i en varmhode- kokille med nivålik metalltilføring. Hensikten er å tilveiebringe en fremgangsmåte og en anordning som gjør det mulig ved nivålik metalltilføring å unngå usym- metriske temperaturgradienter, turbulenser og ikke- utnyttbare metallvolumer. Dette oppnås ved at nivållk- heten for en metallsmelte i en varmhode-kokille og ved utløpsåpningen til en smelteovn tilveiebringes ved hjelp av en støperenne (1) som er ført gjennom det øvre område til v&.rmhode-kokillen og gjennom utstrømnings- åpninger (10) i sine sidevegger (8) tilveiebringer en forbindelse med metalIsmelten i varmhode-kokillen, idet støperennens (1) bunn (11) befinner seg i et plan under nivået til smelteovnens utløpsåpning og under varmhode- kokillens øvre kant (9).
