Oppfinnelsen omhandler anvendelsen av polycykliske fenoliske forbindelse med inntil 20 benzenkjerner per molekyl, oppnådd ved reaksjon av et tetrahydrobenzoksazin I, hvor R1 = en hydrokarbongruppe og R2, R3, R4 og R5 uavhengig = H, OH eller hydrokarbongrupper med én eller flere av like eller forskjellige fenoler II, hvor R7, R8, R9og R10 uavhengig = H, OH eller hydrokarbongrupper og/eller med én eller flere av like eller forskjellige tetrahydrobenzoksaziner I, med det forbehold at minst én av substituentene har 13 til 3000 karbonatomer og de øvrige substituenter, når de er hydrokarbongrupper, har 1 til 20 karbonatomer som stabilisatorer for å stabilisere ikke-levende organiske materialer mot virkningene av lys, oksygen og varme. 52
