Abstract

Dette konsept gjelder en kodefremgangsmåte for å kode bildedata for levende bilder og andre data, effektiv i en spesiell interaktiv omgivelse, for sending av slike bildedata for levende bilder og som omfatter informasjon som ligger konsentrert mot bare et delområde av et visningsbilde som i et toveis interaktivt system som implementerer sanntid toveis interaksjon. Fremgangsmåten for koding involverer oppdeling av en bilderamme som danner de aktuelle bildedata for levende bilder, i flere rektangulære regioner eller ruter og gruppering av hver av disse til en forhåndssatt region av interesse (ROI) og en region uten interesse (ikke-ROI). Disse rektangulære regioner blir deretter sekvensielt komprimerte slik at en kodelengde for en rektangulær region som er gruppert i ROI blir større enn kodelengden for en tilsvarende region gruppert i ikke-ROI, hvorved det frembringes kodede data for hver enkelt bilderamme.
