Abstract
Fischer-Tropsch syntese gjennomføres ved å anvende en kompakt katalytisk reaktorenhet (10) med nærmere bestemte kanaler hvori der er en gass-permeabel katalysatorstruktur (16), idet kanalene strekker seg mellom samletanker (18). Syntesen foregår i minst to trinn, idet reaktorenheten tilveiebringer minst to påfølgende kanaler (14, 14a) for Fischer-Tropsch syntesen som er forbundet ved hjelp av en samletank, gasstrømhastigheten gjennom den første kanalen er tilstrekkelig høy slik at høyst 65% av karbonmonoksydet gjennomgår omdannelse. Gassene avkjøles (25) i samletanken mellom de to trinn, for å kondensere vanndamp, og føres deretter gjennom den andre kanalen ved en tilstrekkelig høy gasstrømhastighet slik at høyst 65% av det gjenværende karbonmonoksyd gjennomgår omdannelse. Dette nedsetter partialtrykket til vanndamp og undertrykker således oksydasjon av katalysatoren.
