Abstract

The tackel supports an at least partly set concrete pipe with its axis vertical, having a spreader extending diametrically across the top of the pipe and equipped with two or more pairs of clamping jaws gripping the pipe edge, and complete with actuating mechanism. One pair of jaws (23, 24) at least is movable in the radial direction of the pipe when in the engaged position, irrespective of the pipe wall thickness. Each pair can have a rigid inverted U section body, with the piston rod of a ram sliding in one of its downwards-extending legs, and a jaw attached to the free end of the rod. One or both the jaws in each pair can be mounted on the body by means of a swing arm.
