Abstract

The clamp has a fixed jaw on a base component, and a movable one on an axis in the component parallel to the grip face, with a curved gripping surface. The movable jaw is coupled by a pin further from its grip face in the vertical direction than its pivot axis to a pull rod, whose other end is coupled to the lifting eye and slides in the base component. The rod is coupled to one end of a piston-and-cylinder unit, thus exerting a tilting effect on the moving jaw. Coupling of unit and rod can be at a point higher than the coupling pin between rod and jaw, and the unit can be pneumatically operated in both directions.
