Abstract

Esta invencion se dirige a un material superabsorbente que comprende un nucleo de polimero superabsorbente que esta cubierto con un agente de recubrimiento organico y polar, y donde el material superabsorbente particulado tiene un angulo de contacto y un correspondiente cos CAm (como se define en la presente), en donde el cos CAm es mayor de 0.3 y en donde, cuando el agente de recubrimiento esta en forma de particulas, las particulas del agente de recubrimiento tienen un tamano medio de particula (ponderado) de 0.001 a 1 micrometro. El material es util en estructuras absorbentes y en articulos absorbentes (que contienen estas estructuras). El material superabsorbente recubierto por lo regular esta presente en la estructura absorbente, al menos en una concentracion de 50% en peso de la estructura, de preferencia incluso de 80% o hasta 90%. La invencion tambien brinda un proceso para fabricar el material absorbente.
