Abstract
Se describe el uso de una fibra fina o fibra que tiene un diametro de fibra de alrededor de 0.0001 a 0.5 micras, que se ha vuelto una herramienta de diseno importante para medios de filtro. Se han preparado medios de filtro comunes con una capa de fibra fina al formarse tipicamente en el lado corriente arriba o de admision de la estructura de medios. La fibra fina incrementa la eficiencia de la filtracion, al entrampar particulas pequenas que incrementan la eficiencia global de filtracion de particulas de la estructura. Se han desarrollado estructuras mejoradas de fibra fina en las cuales se coloca una cantidad controlada de fibra fina en ambos lados de los medios para resultado en una mejora en la eficiencia del filtro, pero una mejora substancial en el tiempo de vida.
