Abstract
Una celda de bateria de plomo-acido, regulada por valvula (VRLA) (2, 40) tiene placas positivas y negativas (10, 11, 41, 42), separadas por medios separadores (12, 43) y mantenidas juntas bajo presion. El separador esta adaptado para sostener en el mismo un electrolito. Cada placa tiene una primera lengueta sencilla o pluralidad de lenguetas (12, 13, 46) en un primer lado y una segunda lengueta sencilla o pluralidad de lenguetas (15, 16, 47) en un segundo lado de la placa, cada lengueta estando conectada a una barra conectora (17, 18, 49, 50) para formar barras conectoras positiva y negativa en cada uno de los lados primero y segundo de la placa. La celda puede ser configurada de manera alternativa en un arreglo enrollado en espiral o en un arreglo prismatico de placas planas. La celda puede ser construida de una pluralidad de tales placas positivas y negativas. Una bateria VRLA (1, 40) puede ser construida de una o una pluralidad de tales celdas VRLA, en cuyo caso las barras conectoras de celdas vecinas estan conectadas por juntas soldadas. Las barras conectoras reciben servicio por al menos varios pares de terminales positivas y negativas (24, 25, 33, 34, 52, 53, 54, 55).
