Abstract
Una válvula de retencion (10), típicamente con forma de la com°nmente llamada válvula de pico de pato, que comprende un cuerpo de válvula (12) y una membrana de válvula (14). El cuerpo de válvula (12) es generalmente tubular e incluye un paso alargado (16) con entrada (18) y salida (20) en los extremos opuestos. La membrana de válvula (14) es de un diafragma con forma generalmente conica formada integralmente con el cuerpo de válvula (12). El diafragma (14) tiene una abertura o apertura (22) colapsable colocada en o adyacente al ápice de los conos. El diafragma conico (14) se orienta con su ápice dirigido hacia abajo. El material elásticamente flexible con el cual se construye el diafragma (14), asegura que el diafragma (14) en una condicion colapsada obstruya o cierre la apertura (22) para evitar que fluya el fluido en una direccion inversa, es decir, en contraflujo hacia la entrada. La presurizacion del fluido dentro del paso (16) en el costado de la entrada (18) del diafragma (14), desvía el diafragma para abrir la apertura (22) de manera que el fluido pueda fluir a través del paso desde la entrada (18) hacia la salida (20) solamente. Puede hacerse también una membrana permeable en una sola direccion a partir de un panel o recubrimiento que incorpore muchas de tales válvulas de pico de pato de retencion colapsables sobre la superficie del panel o recubrimiento.
