La invencion inmediata proporciona una nueva Forma II cristalina de la (ñ)-5-([3,5-bis(1,1-dimetiletil)-4-hidroxifenil]me til)-4-tiazolidinona que tiene un patron de difraccion en polvo de rayos X con espacios d de 5.64 Å, 5.16 Å, 4.90 Å, 4.66 Å, 4.49 Å, la cual es util para el tratamiento de la inflamacion, la enfermedad del intestino inflamatoria, las alergías, artritis, e hipoglicemia que utiliza la nueva forma física, así como las composiciones farmacéuticas que contienen la misma. Se describe un proceso para preparar la Forma II de la Tazofelona.
