Abstract
La invencion proporciona un proceso y un dispositivo para purificar gas de la combustion que contiene oxidos de nitrogeno, en el cual el gas de la combustion se depura con un líquido de depuracion circulante que contiene un quelato metálico de transicion tal como Fe(II) de EDTA y el complejo formado a partir del oxido de nitrogeno y el quelato metálico de transicion y/o el quelato metálico de transicion agotado se regeneran biologicamente en la presencia de un átomo donador de electrones, reduciéndose el oxido de nitrogeno a nitrogeno molecular. El reactor biologico puede combinarse con el depurador de gas. El átomo donador de electrones es, por ejemplo, hidrogeno o metanol, pero también puede ser sulfito que se origina a partir del dioxido de azufre en el gas de la combustion.
