Abstract

Se provee un procedimiento intermitente para hacer un látex de hule de dieno. El procedimiento implica (a) proveer una cantidad de una composicion del procedimiento intermitente líquida inicial (que contiene agua, emulsificante y monomero de dieno), suficiente para ocupar de 50 a 80% en volumen de un recipiente de reaccion bajo presion basado en el volumen total del recipiente, (b) alimentar al recipiente una composicion de alimentacion líquida que contiene monomero de dieno e iniciador, (c) proveer enfriamiento al recipiente para enfriar el líquido y vapor en el mismo, y (d) hacer reaccionar el monomero de dieno a un nivel de conversion de monomero de dieno final de por lo menos 80% molar basado en el total de moles de monomero de dieno usado en la reaccion, y el nivel de volumen de líquido final en el recipiente siendo por lo menos 80% en volumen basado en el volumen total del recipiente. También se provee un látex de hule que tiene una distribucion de tamaño de partícula estrecha, y se provee un copolímero de injerto vinilaromático-hule de dieno que presenta ciertas propiedades ventajosas.
