Abstract

Una válvula lumínica tal como un LCD de matriz activa entre polarizadores cruzados, utilizando, por ejemplo, transistores individuales para controlar cada "área de pixel" del LCD, y elementos de almacenaje para almacenar datos de señal de video para cada pixel, con "espacios muertos" recubiertos opticamente entre los pixeles, para eliminar la interferencia de campo eléctrica y el sangrado pasante de luz que no lleva ninguna informacion, se ilumina con una fuente de luz independiente de brillo que crea una imagen de video proyectada medianteopticos de proyeccion especializada sobre una pantalla interna o externa, sin distorsiones, sin importar el ángulo de proyeccion sobre la pantalla. El uso de vertederos de calor, recubrimientos IR reflexivos, opticos absorbentes de calor, fluido opcional y un transistor de pixel controlado por una resistencia térmica desvía la inyeccion de voltaje al servocircuito y estabiliza el desempeño de imagen, manteniendo niveles exactos de color y contraste a medida que cambia la temperatura de LCD. En una modalidad de la presente invencion, el uso de un LCD a todo color con una cavidad escalonada, que produce diferentes grosores del LCD para las diferentes longitudes de onda que pasan a través de éste, permite una correspondencia lineal entre las longitudes de onda que pasan a través del LCD para producir un negro verdadero, un alto contraste y un rendimiento de color parecido al CRT. Se utiliza un arreglo de espejo dicroico para sobreponer pixeles coloreados de manera diferente en la imagen proyectada. El uso de espejo a raya duplica los pixeles, en donde es necesario, eliminando los espacios entre pixeles, creando una imagen continua sin rayas ni puntos aparentes. También se describe una pantalla especial tipo persiana veneciana y también se explican métodos para usar el sistema para ver un video tridimensional.
