Abstract
Las mangueras se refuerzan frecuentemente con tela para mejorar sus características de funcionamiento tales como resistencia al reventamiento. Por ejemplo la manguera del radiador usada en aplicaciones automotrices por lo general se refuerza con el hilo continuo. Sin embargo, es un proceso de mano de obra intenso al fabricar estas mangueras que incluyen refuerzos de fibra. Una cantidad considerable de desperdicio de material ocurre también por lo general en la fabricación de esta manguera reforzadas con fibras. Utilizando la técnica de esta invención, la manguera que tiene un alto nivel de resistencia revenimiento se puede fabricar sin incluir un refuerzo de hilo continuo. Esta invención revela de manera específica un proceso para fabricar una manguera que comprende (1) extruir una composición de caucho en la forma de un tubo, en donde la composición del caucho consiste de (a) una aleación de epdm que comprende (i) caucho de epdm normal, (ii) un caucho de EPDM que tiene cadenas laterales termoplásticas insertadas en el mismo, y (iii) un termoplástico disperso en donde el termoplástico se selecciona del grupo que consiste en nylon, poliésteres y óxidos de polifenileno, (b) un caucho de EPDM, (c) negro de carbón, (d) por lo menos un agente de curación, (e) óxido de zinc, _(f) un aceite de procesamiento y (g) ácido esteárico; (2) configurar el tubo en la forma geométrica deseada para la manguera; y (3) curar la composición de caucho a una temperatura dentro de la escala de 130°C. a 10°C para producir la manguera.
