Abstract
El proceso de la presente invención se refiere a un proceso en donde una alimentación líquida que comprende ácido monocloroacético, ácido dicloroacético y, opcionalmente, ácido acético y/o ácido tricloroacético se somete a un paso de hidrodecloración catalítica poniéndola en contacto con una fuente de hidrógeno en presencia de un catalizador heterogéneo para la hidrogenación situado en un lecho de catalizador fijo, en donde la alimentación líquida se alimenta por la parte superior de un reactor tubular vertical a un velocidad de masa superficial de entre 1 y 10 kg/s por metro cuadrado de la sección transversal horizontal del reactor tubular vertical y una velocidad de entre 250 y 3000 kg/h por m3 de dicho lecho de catalizador, en donde la fuente de hidrógeno se alimenta por la parte superior o de fondo del reactor tubular vertical a una velocidad de entre 0.025 a 0.25 Nm3/s por metro cuadrado de la sección transversal horizontal del reactor tubular vertical, para obtener un gradiente de presión axial promedio de por lo menos 2 kPa por metro de dicho lecho de catalizador, y en donde la temperatura en la parte superior del reactor tubular vertical es de entre 100 y 200°C, y en donde la presión en la parte superior del reactor tubular vertical es de entre 0.2 y 1.0 MPa.
