Abstract
La presente invención describe el desarrollo de una composición a ase de poliolefinas para aislamientos eléctricos termoplásticos libres de halógenos, retardantes a la flama, con baja emisión de humos obscuros y buenas propiedades eléctricas en agua, para usarse en cables conductores eléctricos, que cumpla con la directriz europea RoHS y que sean aplicables en la industria de la construcción bajo la descripción THW-LS/THHW-LS. La composición aplicada como aislamiento, además de otorgar las características ya mencionadas, posee buenas características durante el proceso de extrusión, lo que permite que se pueda procesar a altas velocidades en los equipos usados para su aplicación. La composición de la presente invención comprende esencialmente de una mezcla de por lo menos dos resinas poliméricas a base de poliolefinas, una primera resina suave y flexible y una segunda resina resistente a la temperatura; por lo menos un agente compatibilizante y de acoplamiento; por lo menos un retardante de flama; por lo menos un agente antioxidante; y, por lo menos un agente lubricante. En una modalidad adicional, se emplea por lo menos una arcilla de tamaño de partícula nanométrico, para incrementar las propiedades de retardancia al fuego.
