Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un proceso para producir ésteres de (met)acrilato de hidroxialquilo, en particular metacrilato de hidroxietilo (HEMA), que comprende, en un primer paso de reacción, la reacción de (met)acroleína con al menos un alcohol polihídrico, en particular etilenglicol, en presencia de un primer catalizador C1, en donde se obtiene un primer producto de reacción que comprende un acetal cíclico, y, en un segundo paso de reacción, la reacción del primer producto de reacción con oxígeno en presencia de un segundo catalizador C2, en donde se obtiene un segundo producto de reacción que comprende al menos un éster de (met)acrilato de hidroxialquilo, en donde, después del primer paso de reacción, el agua y opcionalmente otros componentes, en particular (met)acroleína y/o el alcohol polihídrico, por ejemplo, etilenglicol, se retiran al menos parcialmente del primer producto de reacción.
