Abstract
La invención se refiere a gránulos de fertilizante recubiertos y métodos para fabricar gránulos y utilizar gránulos de fertilizante inorgánicos orgánicamente mejorados, que incorporan un recubrimiento de una o más capas concéntricas sobre un núcleo de modo que el recubrimiento contiene un agente bioactivo tal como un herbicida, plaguicida, regulador del crecimiento vegetal, microorganismo o un elemento beneficioso. La aplicación del recubrimiento al gránulo de fertilizante preferiblemente implica la unión del agente bioactivo a la superficie del gránulo o a los componentes orgánicos dentro del gránulo. La liberación del agente bioactivo del recubrimiento y/o la superficie del gránulo preferiblemente da como resultado una liberación en dos fases, una primera liberación rápida y una segunda liberación prolongada o lenta del agente bioactivo en el suelo que cuantifica la biodisponibilidad del agente bioactivo para el crecimiento o protección de cultivos y/o para controlar la vegetación no deseada o plagas.
