Abstract
Se describen compuestos heterocíclicos de la Fórmula (Ver Fórmula I) sales farmacéuticamente aceptables de los mismos. También se describe el uso de tales compuestos heterocíclicos y sus sales farmacéuticamente aceptables para el tratamiento de cánceres, y más particularmente cánceres sensibles a la inhibición de la actividad mitocondrial y niveles aumentados de especies de oxígeno reactivas (ROS). Tales cánceres incluyen leucemia mieloide aguda (AML), preferiblemente AML caracterizada por ciertas características, tal como un alto nivel de expresión de uno o más genes de la red Homeobox (HOX), alta y/o baja expresión de genes específicos, la presencia de uno o más más factores de riesgo citogenéticos o moleculares tal como el riesgo citogenético intermedio, cariotipo normal (NK), NPM1 mutado, CEBPA mutado, FLT3 mutado, DNMT3A mutado, TET2 mutado, IDH1 mutado, IDH2 mutado, RUNX1 mutado, WT1 mutado, SRSF2 mutado, riesgo citogenético intermedio con cariotipo anormal (intern(abnK)), trisomía 8 (+8) y/o cromosoma anormal (5/7), y/o una alta frecuencia de células madre leucémicas (LSC).
