Abstract
Un método que comprende a) calcinar un soporte de sílice a una temperatura en el rango de alrederor 100°C a alrededor de 500°C para formar un soporte de sílice precalcinado, b) poner el soporte de sílice precalcinado en contacto con un alcóxido de titanio para formar un soporte con titanio, c) poner el soporte con titanio en contacto con un poliol luego de b) para formar un soporte con titanio-asociado a poliol (PATS), d) poner al menos uno del soporte de sílice, el soporte de sílice precalcinado, soporte con titanio, PATS, o combinaciones de estos en contacto con un compuesto que contiene cromo para formar un precursor de catalizador de polimerización, e) secar el precursor de catalizador de polimerización para formar un precursor de catalizador de polimerización seco y f) calcinar el precursor de catalizador de polimerización seco para producir un catalizador de polimerización, en donde se emite menos de alrededor de 0.1% en peso de un compuesto orgánico volátil muy reactivo (HRVOC) durante la calcinación del precursor de catalizador de polimerización seco.
