Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un proceso para formar un electrolito para una pila de combustible de óxido sólido soportada por metal, el proceso que comprende: a. combinar un polvo de cena impurificada con un adyuvante de sinterización y un disolvente para formar una suspensión; b. aplicar la suspensión a una capa anódica; c. secar para formar un electrolito verde; y d. quemar el electrolito verde para formar un electrolito sinterizado: en donde la suspensión en la etapa b. comprende polvo de ceria impurificada con una propiedad física seleccionada de una distribución de tamaño de partícula bimodal, un área superficial BET en el intervalo de 15 - 40 m2/g, una morfología esférica o combinaciones de los mismos, junto con un electrolito obtenido mediante el proceso, una pila de combustible y un montón de pilas de combustible, que comprende el electrolito, y el uso del combustible en la generación de energía eléctrica.
