Abstract
Un método continuo de carbonización para la carbonización de una fibra o precursor de poliacrilonitrilo (PAN) oxidad, continua, en donde la fibra precursora que sale del sistema de carbonización es una fibra carbonizada que se ha expuesto a una atmósfera que comprende 5% o menos, preferentemente 0.1% o menor, preferentemente 0%, en volumen de oxígeno durante su paso desde un horno de alta temperatura hacia el siguiente horno de temperatura. En una modalidad, el sistema de carbonización incluye un horno de carbonización previa, un horno de carbonización, una cámara sustancialmente hermética entre los hornos y un caja de propulsión que tiene una pluralidad de rodillos de propulsión que están encerrados por la cámara hermética.
