Abstract
De acuerdo con un aspecto de la presente invención, un sistema de transmisión de carga para un vehículo incluye un travesaño de una estructura de vehículo que se extiende de manera sustancialmente perpendicular en una puerta de vehículo. Un desviador se ubica dentro de una cavidad definida entre los paneles de láminas metálicas interno y externo de la puerta del vehículo, donde el desviador se ubica distal del travesaño para definir un estado inactivo. Cuando la puerta del vehículo experimenta una carga de impacto lateral, la carga de impacto lateral mueve el desviador a través de la zona de transmisión y se une, al menos en forma parcial, con el travesaño para definir una posición colapsada del desviador. De esta manera, la carga de impacto lateral se transfiere a través del desviador hacia el travesaño.
