Abstract

Una pluralidad de tipos diferentes (A, B, C) de componentes se alimentan a una línea o celda de producción (L) por medio de un transportador para hacer recircular una pluralidad de tarimas (P) sobre las cuales se transportan los componentes (A, B, C). El transportador comprende un carrusel horizontal para hacer recircular las tarimas (P) a lo largo de una trayectoria sin fin. El transportador es capaz de provocar que las tarimas (P) circulen en cualquiera de las dos direcciones de circulación y la dirección de circulación de las tarimas se cambia de acuerdo con el tipo de componente (A, B, C) requerido por la línea o celda de producción (L) en cada etapa de operación, de manera tal que transporta un componente del tipo requerido a la línea o celda de producción (L) en el tiempo más corto posible. El transportador (1) comprende un dispositivo tensor de cadena único (15) diseñado para tensar la cadena adecuadamente siempre que se invierta la dirección de movimiento de la cadena.
