Abstract

Boquillas rociadoras de azufre dispuestas con un tanque de enfriamiento rocían azufre fundido líquido en el líquido de enfriamiento en el tanque. Se forman semillas sólidas de azufre en el líquido de enfriamiento y se sedimentan en el tanque. El tanque de enfriamiento puede ser un tanque deshidratador espiral que tiene un transportador de tornillo helicoidal en el fondo del tanque que mueve las semillas hacia un tambor de granulación para agrandamiento en los gránulos de azufre. El tanque de enfriamiento también se puede utilizar para capturar y remover polvo de azufre de una lechada de polvo de azufre y agua que recircula desde el tambor de granulación. El polvo de azufre en el tanque de enfriamiento puede ser capturado por contacto con gotas de azufre fundido que se propagan hacia debajo de la columna de líquido de enfriamiento de manera que las partículas de polvo quedan incorporadas en la gota, convirtiéndose así en semillas. El tambor de granulación puede estar equipado con dos o más grupos de vuelos de elevación segmentados. Los grupos de vuelos pueden no estar en alineación.
