Abstract

El concentrado de zinc es sometido, básicamente, a las etapas de: a. Tostación de al menos una parte del concentrado de zinc. b. Lixiviación neutra donde se disuelve el óxido de zinc. c. Lixiviación ácida donde se lixivian las ferritas de zinc. d. Reducción del Fe+++ contenido en la solución a Fe++. e. Neutralización de la acidez de la solución con calcine. h. Oxidación de hierro y precipitación de jarosita por medio de la inyección de oxígeno o aire enriquecido con oxígeno y la adición de un álcali ó una sal alcalina, limitando la acidez final a un máximo de 15 g/l. Adicionalmente, tras la etapa de neutralización (e), puede llevar una etapa (f) de relixiviación del residuo para la precipitación del arsénico e impurezas afines, y una etapa (g) de cementación de Cu, y tras la etapa (c) una etapa (i) de reducción de hierro y lixiviación directa.
