Abstract
El modo de combustión de un motor (1) de combustión interna mientras un vehículo está detenido durante el arranque en frío se puede conmutar entre la combustión homogénea y la combustión estratificada. El rango de operación de la combustión estratificada mientras el vehículo está detenido durante el arranque en frío se establece para volverse mayor con respecto al rango de operación de la combustión homogénea a medida que se vuelve menor la inclinación en la dirección frontal a trasera del vehículo. Consecuentemente, el rango de operación de la combustión estratificada se puede ampliar mientras se asegura la presión negativa de entrada requerida para la función de freno, logrando por consiguiente la reducción de HC mientras el vehículo está detenido durante el arranque en frío.
